those arent my builds those were just examples i found.... wouldnt touch a honda for anything... i do all rwd. (86 mustang, 84 ae86, 89 240sx) just examples for what some pretty crazy seeming builds n/a on hondas compare.

You'd need a GOOD full bridge n/a 13B to match a stock block tuned K20 FYI. Start putting internals in the K20? Game over.
You need to see this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/naturally-aspirated-performance-forum-220/216rwhp-streetport-13bre-sure-did-take-while-801325/

I personally know he's well beyond that before he tested the shorter intake, although I'm not at liberty to say how much.

That's just a street port, and from I know about the engine, there's not a whole lot of money into it. Aren't K20's expensive to acquire in the first place?

Im gonna go for the rotary, I know it can be done besides i love that you can do pretty much anything to a rotary yourself. shoot its old but does take much to make power its just a simple motor. who needs all that high tec stuff. lol i have no clue where im going with all this but yeah i wanna see this to the end =P

The Rotary will win...

I street tune hondas for extra cash and i tuned some pretty nasty K20 hatches and had the chance to witness a 2.6l 349hp all motor K series. They are nice but on the street they don't hook.. I already seen the K series get demolish by a rotary in puerto rico this pass summer... Them dudes is going down to the races with corked P Ports... They have bone stock catbacks with an exhaust cut out right after the collector. In the street the K20 has no traction what so ever... them things bounce of the limiter in 3rd some times... the starlets are know for hopping of the line like a frog..

They have to come up with a K20a in order to keep up.. the K20a2 or 3 are just garbage, and the TypeS tranny is 1200 to 1400 alone.. this are street prices from CT where i could get a B18C Type R swaps for 1200 all day long with the tranny... and there ain't no way in hell somebody is coming up with a 26X-28Xhp B16.... at that stage is probably not even a honda motor no more...
I tuned B20 Vtec with crazy head work on 86mm bore and squeezed 272WHP... I don't see that happening on the B16 stroke, not even on 86mm bores.

The K series are nice but you could take a real quiet 13B PP in the streets and then open up the exhaust and do damage...

Keep the squeeze at hand... i cant stress this enough when racing hondas. They are a bunch of sorry losers that will push that button as soon as they see you a fender ahead. my boy has a gsr with a decoy line in the trunk and the real bottle under the dash.. YOU WILL GET SPRAY!!! If you fallow somewhat what i said you could spank the K20, it doesn't need to be a PP you could bridge port it, just make sure you get a cut out valve, you unleash A LOT of HPs with it. dish the stock manifold for an ITB set up with the proper intake runner length or a 51IDA carb to make it simple... i'm not a fan of them but they do their job real good

By the way to the dude trowing tons of parts at a honda motor to make it run... ---> LOL

I own an Ls Vtec 1990 EF and i **** on my tire cuz i don't give a crap about the thing.. hondas ain't cars they toys.. (i had to build one just to advertise my tuning)

You don't need tons of parts to produce power, Machine work is the key... here is my $700 dollar motor, 243WHP and i don't hold secrets.

LS block 89MM Decked .026
Stock honda Bearing
82MM CTR pistons (stock civic type R, one MM biger) machined .022 intake valve pocket, .032 exhaust pockets.
GSR head STOCK PORTS shaved .045
Skunk2 springs and retainers
Buddy Club Stage IV cams
Stock rods Crio treated
ARP rod bolts
ARP head studs
2 layer head gasket
Skunk2 ported manifold
65mm throttle body
450cc talon injectors
15.2C/R on E85
VW electric water pump
N2 Crank pulley

I could care less if the thing blows, i'll just live it right where it blew.. i laught when i see people post their big buck mods and not be able to keep up.. parts don't make power.

k20 vs 13b both na

i will be posting pic of the car soon. I picked up the engine last week and got set of 90 na rotors with the front weight. looks like sometime in march i will sink my teeth into it. i have a tII of client to finish before i can really work on it. i have to sand blast the under side first so i can weld in the cross support for the 4 link and shocks. the under side is a little rusty so i want to fix it now. that way i dont have to deal with it later or that it causes so other problems. pic will start coming soon

on the other hand the k20 has not even gotten started. they purchased a block but no car. i think they are starting to see the cost different on k build. it very costly even if you have hookups.

Hey you leave Honda and go to Mazda for good reason I can't let a Honda beat me on the street or the track 2000lbs or not k20 swapped or not. Rotary Power forever! Thats why I equiped my car with rocket launchers and oil slick deployments.I'll have a Honda MOON WALKING down the track

update pic of the car

Here are the pic of my starlet. It needs work but its a good start. Once i get the engine opened up ill post those pic also. I just got the high compression rotors and front weight but ill send those pic with the engine.

For the honda tech dmolchanoff. Im not running a Rx7 its a starlet and it not all won on engine there are other parts of the car make a race. All i can do is build the car and go out and run the race. If you dont think it possible for 13b to beat a k20 then so be it. The fun part is trying. At the end of the if you dont try you will never know.

Your a Honda tech and drive an RX-7? Shows me what you think of those Honda's eh?

BTW buddy, you obviously don't know your rotary history. Padilla ran a 9.8 second with a 13bpport all motor N/A first gen rx7. This is full glass and interior with one racing seat.

Front wheel drive Honda's will never be able to compete with rear wheel drive cars with the same weight and horspower. That is why all the Honda chicken **** crybabies get to weigh several hundred pounds lighter in the all motor class vs the rotary because if the playing field was even the rotary would dominate like it has in the past and that is why they changed the rules for the Honda whinners.

That's another engine that they banned from the all motor class because the Honda's could not come close to keeping up with it. So, what did all the brownoser's do? Cry like a bunch of babies and banned the 20b like they cried about the 13b. It all comes down to sponsors, money and who you blow and them Honda boys are the best at all three.

I haven't really read this thread that much but i'm sure the rotary is going in a starlet. Thats around 18xxlbs? Where do you get a 2600lb rx7?
