Went out to start my car this morning, make sure i got the mixture right on the coolant and my block didn't split open, aside from a dead battery (Car wouldn't even crank for a second or two, BARELY started up) all is well
Would be tons of fun if i could limp over to a parking lot and do some spinny spins but the snow up in this corner was pretty bad. Not nearly as bad as up north but hey, more than I'm used to.
Anyone got any cool first-snow stories? I saw a lifted 4x4 toyota tundra spinning all 4 mud-terrain tires, sideways at a 45' angle up on juan tabo, good to know our little rotaries aren't the only ones that struggle lol

Was it me, lol? I went out romping in my Tundra pretty good the last couple days. The four wheel drive almost works too well, so I just kept it in 2wd and slid around. Went out to the end of southern in R.R. yesterday. There was probably 6 or 7 inches on the ground out there. There was a couple of hills that I BARELY made it up in 4low!!! It gets scary when you are upwards on a hill and the ice under the snow starts making the truck turn sideways halfway up. I'll bet I slid 200 yards sideways down a hill at one point. If tires would have grabbed I would have been on my roof! Again!

My snow story, i prentended to rally raced my wifes camery (25-30 mph lol) when it snowed heavy about 3-4 years ago. It thaught me a little bit about throttle control and weight shifting through turns. It was a blast all they way to the store and back...i got hm and was fending to go run more trips... lol
My FC is on extreme performance summer tires so it wouldn't make it out of the garage. I left the Blazer in 2WD and took my fiancee to work at 6 am. Only slid twice at Wyoming and Alameda then at Alameda and San Pedro. When I got back to my house I purposely gave it a lot of gas and got it sideways going down my street (lots of runoff and no cars parked on the side of the road).
Guys and girls: keep your eyes open for a clean first Gen for me (SA or FB). Not running is OK, but running is fine too. I've got a pretty nasty TII drivetrain that was in an mx5 that I think I'd like to put in a nice light low little firsty for my sister. Its a half bridgy s5 with a 60-1 and microtech. My buddy Christian went low 11s with this setup here in a 92 miata, don't know if any of You all ever saw it run. A super fast rx7 will make a PERFECT first car for my teenage sister, right???
It'll make for a nice first car, sure...Till she wraps it around a pole :P
Hell, even i have had mine sideways around corners and panicked, not expecting it. And i don't exactly ricky-race around town, either.

honestly, my N/A was more than enough power (right? lol) when I was 16. If I had my turbo 2 back then it would have been a bad story. I don't know your sister but if you feel she's mature enough to handle a big turbo rotary, let her at it. Make sure she understands the responsibility that comes with driving a fast car. We all know how easy it is to get a little carried away in sports cars and accidents happen.
I'm sure she'll be fine as females are less reckless than males...

She'll be fine. Joking aside, she knows more about rotaries and 7s than most people on the forum. She's been with me for probably my last twenty builds. She's also been racing motorcycles with me since she was three. She learned to drive standard at 11 in my very modified TII, and shes driven my fd lots of times. I'm not worried.

I'll let you know when I get the car and see what kind of condition the wheels are in.
