Ongoing New Mexico thread
I'm sorry to hear that, Sean. Did the ******** who forced you off the road even stop to help out or did they just let you drop off the road? At least there weren't any serious injuries, but it's still a crap thing to go through.
I was up in the Jemez mountains last weekend, driving around with my sister. We came around a pretty sharp blind corner, only to encounter a truck sliding around it around 45mph like they were Ken f^#king Block. We had to swerve to avoid them, and ended up dropping off a 40ft embankment and rolling three times. The only thing that kept us from rolling even more were some trees that stopped us. We are both ok, bruised and cut up, super sore, and I have three broken ribs. Pics...
I should be there in STS or STR trim.
October 8th there is an RGRSCCA autocross here in Albuquerque. It is at g-lot which is a parking lot for UNM. It is always a fundraiser event for FSAE and as an FSAE alumni I'll be there racing/supporting.
Here is a link to the schedule (You can't register for the event just yet)
http://www.rgrscca.com/schedule.htm
It'd be cool to see some more rx7's out there running.

STR! - You don't by chance have the reverse light switch on your parts rx7 do you? (looking to get one)
Not too much, just need to make sure your car is in good working order so you can pass tech. Things like a proper battery tie down, make sure the seat belts work, brake pedal gets hard, wheel bearings don't have play, have all the lugs, not leaking oil/coolant all over, etc.
They encourage people to pre-register for the event but the link is not up yet. I'll let you know when they post it.
I don't think we've met but I've seen your posts on RSW!

It's going to be STR. Someone knifed my front left tire so I'll just use my big wheels and tires. With the right course I might have enough gearing to stay in first =).
Bummer about the tire.. I'm sure Jake will be there to clean up in STR so we can battle for 2nd!
I've got 2 of them but they both have the wires ripped out at the surface of the switch.
Also looking for an oil pressure sensor since I just realized mine isn't giving a reading anymore..

G-lot is probably the best event if it's your first. Tech and registration open at 7:45 am and close at 8:45 am. I suggest that people arrive around 8:00 am. Loaner helmets are provided. Just arrive, get your car teched, register, and have fun. Entry fee for non-members is $40 and there will be novice instructors if you are interested in instruction.

I've made some minor suspension changes since the September event and I'm hoping the angry RX-7 will be ready for that 2nd place battle =).

I am totally looking forward to this tho. I'll be taking my turbo 2 as well but I'm not gonna drive that one. I don't wanna push her hard just yet.Lenny! man our cars are brothers, even though yours is slammed all sweet. Cruising was legit.
Oh yeah, LETS ALL get a meet going. I don't care where, but we should try for friday night or sometime this weekend. I know a lot of you guys want one so lets do it. Let me know what days would be best and we can get this organized.
Just realized I never posted the pre-reg link. here it is http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...D7F1EDC1A58DCB
they usually close it on Thursday night, so try to register before then. if you forget you can still register the day of the event for a small extra fee.

Had a blast on Saturday, was holding onto 2nd in my class until the last run when I got edged out by a damn s2000..
That was the last event of the season for RGRSCCA, they usually hold a winter series in January/February at the parking lot of Cliffs Amusement park though.

Saw a rootbeer brown GSL-SE on my way home from work going north on Louisina.. Anyone know him? Tried to say hi but he was in the far left lane and I was in the far right and needed to turn on Indian School!
So just a quick question I'm a rotor head in Alamogordo and see a few RX-7's and 8's around of all vintage including a great looking red GSL-SE and was wondering if there are any other alamo area rotor heads on here?

Hi guys,
I have a quick/dumb question to ask... what does the rotor with the 5 inside it mean under r names? Does it have something to do with how long we been on here? Sorry. Just curious.
Spencer.

Yes. If you hover over it with your pointer it will bring up a tag that says, "Five year member" (takes a few seconds).
