Cool, I'll let you know. I also still have that throttle body you let me take when I needed those parts.. I'll get that back to you sometime this semester! haha.

I can sort of raise my hand for this. The guy riding the bike is a friend of mine. His stunt team partner Ernie Vigil is a very good friend of mine, and we are currently building him a Triumph Speed Triple that will be set up specifically for drifting. I never really got in to the whole drift scene for cars, but now I'm really getting involved in the bike drifting since I've teamed up with Ernie to build his bike. We have just started, but if anyone wants to come check it out in the next couple of weeks, come by the shop. Its going to have an extended swingarm, a triple pipe exhaust, a really custom paint and graphic setup, and way more. Its going to be so so sweet!

That video is outrageous. I would be shitting pants to be on that bike with a 2300 lb car sliding at you sideways. I'd like to see that Triumph you're building sometime. Sounds like its gonna be bad ***.

I really don't know a whole lot about bikes whatsoever, but I'd like to check this out. It sounds like you have a pretty kick *** job, too.

I just realized why the driver of that white FD looked familiar. He used to have an e34 m5 that I've wrenched on when I first started working at the BMW dealership.
Didn't realize homeboy was a great driver!
Happy MLK day everybody.

I'm at PJ's Triumph Ducati on Central and Tramway-ish. Come by anytime.

And yeah, the driver of that LS FD is Jim Guthrie. That FD is getting a stroker motor, a supercharger, and some other go fast bits as we speak. I think he's shooting for 700 or so at the wheels

Well guys was going to take the Rx7 to the track but it flooded and I'm tired of this so I'm going to pull it apart and fix the injectors once and for all. Sorry for this late post but the car is just being a bastard right now.

Talking :)

xshift I just bought some parts, mostly interior pieces, i did get coolant items from mazdatrix and I am going to fill out the SCCA forms next Sat and mail em in. I will be there for the spring session (just as long as my school work doesnt kill me). Im looking forward to the races!!(I think i got cabin fever). Also I was wondering what class you race in and what mods you have and what companies/manufactures you think are good or have had good exp with?? I have only had the car for a few months so I am changing fluids and replacing parts on the car that the person(s) before me missed or messed up.
Does anyone know of a junk yard in the Durango-ABQ area that has 1st gen rx7's? Im looking for the plastic covers that go over the rear wheel wells and the passenger side pull cup(the piece that goes in the door panel arm rest). I have the red interior.

Thank you,
Spencer.

I have no idea what he uses but RE-Speed is the only place I'd go for suspension bits. I'd also do direct contact rather than the purchase and put on aspect. If you talk to Billy directly he'll help you out in any and every way possible. It has been several years since I've been in the SA/FB game, but he may have a lot more to offer for first gens these days. His products are top notch, affordable, and he is a great person to work with.

Hey Spencer,
First off - For junkyard Rx7's we have a place here in Albuquerque called u pull and pay. Right now their website isn't working for some reason.. But usually you can check their current inventory of cars and see what is in there. They also have a list of prices on the website. Last time I checked the site (which was this past week) they had only one rx7 left and it had been there for a while.. So it is probably picked over. But I would definitely keep checking it out. I've seen 4 or 5 there at a time!

As for my car - It only has a few things done to it. I have Re-Speed Camber plates, Tokico Illumina shocks, Hawk HP+ brakes, polyurethane bushings, bigger wheels/tires, and a full Racingbeat exhaust. The plan is to do some coilover sleeves next.

I am currently running it in STR, although the exhaust is not legal. The car is truly legal in CSP. Due to the fact that not many people race this class, they let it slide..

Like Naegleria_Fowleri stated, Re-Speed is basically the only company that makes any sort of aftermarket parts for FB's. I have had a few interactions with Billy and he is a stand up guy.

What SCCA forms are you planning to submit? A membership?

If you have any other questions feel free to throw them up!
-Steven.

ShiFT, were you the FB that was up in Santa Fe's autocross not all that long ago? I'd like to go to this Autocross as well and watch again. Hopefully it is a warm day that day.

That'll be great. I miss having FB's to beat on, and in three weeks I'll be out in Cali. Riding in an FB will give me motivation to pick up another one. I'll definitely stop by if I end up making it.

Spencer, that is correct. They do all of their registration through motorsportreg.com so you will need to make an account on there.

They open up the registration maybe 1-2 weeks before the event, and then close it a couple days before. As we get closer to a Farmington event I'd be happy to help you through the process as it is a little confusing.

Have you looked into the RMsolo stuff over in Colorado? Here is their schedule, maybe there are some events close to you http://www.rmsolo.org/schedule.html

Dear fellow New Mexicans,

Please buy my FD 5-speed and driveshaft. I really need the space in my garage so that I can get back to working on my project. Shoot me anything resembling a decent offer and it's yours. I'll be very nice and even give you a beer. It'll probably be some cheap domestic swill, but it will still be very very free.

Sincerely,
ryan

Ryan, how long before the 20b is back on the road? And let me check on the fittability of putting that into out 85 gsl-se. I might think about using it, if it will fit without major pain in the assage!

Well, I'm trying to be somewhat more fiscally responsible these days, which flies right in the face of turbocharged three rotor third generation Rx-7s. Trying to be realistic, I'd say ~1 year. Could be much quicker if someone is itching to sponsor me. Any takers?

Unrelatedly, I've got a meeting down there tomorrow at 1400. What time do you guys usually grab lunch on fridays?

It is nowhere near a bolt in affair. The bell housing is much larger on the FD trans, and will not clear the trans tunnel on your GSL-SE. And the location of the starter on the FD trans also presents an issue mounting in a first gen. It is possible, but you have to beat some serious sheetmetal in. Sorry to be a downer, just trying to help haha.
