Well my turbo should be on the way, should have it by Wendsday. Hopefully it wont smoke bad like before or better off not smoke at all. And Sean about that hood. Still have to talk to my brother about that.
Matt- thats cool, let me know when ever.
I got my car fixed, my manifold wasn't cracked.........
it ended up being a BOLT on the turbine housing that holds the center bearing/shaft assembly to the casing.
I dont know how it got loose but it would explain the exhaust leak and the sound of something metal shooting all over the place under the hood when I thought the manifold let go.
Installed a new stainless steel heat treated bolt from ACE. I actually ended up finding three bolts loose as well. Tightened them up and she runs like a charm. I can feel a difference in boost response now, it must have leaked quite a bit before.
Now if I could only fix my f*ing dents.
Ransom, that ding king is not bad. It pulled a big one on my C-pillar but you have to pull each dent almost 10-15 times and there is still a little ding there. Im gonna spend all day sunday using it and then I'll give her back to ya. I am going to buy a carbin fiber v-mount hood if Matts hood deal falls through. The "drift" (so gay) hood should help with engine bay cooling since I have a cone filter just basking in the heat. I want to put a fine coat of my blue paint over the CF hood to give it a blue shine from the side. Something different if I actually do it.

Sean - My brother said he would trade you hoods straight across, just so when he gets an engine in he wont be out of a hood. Its up to you. He said he doesnt care if its hail damaged.
Matt, tell your brother thank you but the car needs attention somewhere else now. I ended up spinning a rotor bearing on Sunday road racing out at lewistown's road track. I thought first it was a blown apex seal but I was in the safe zone with fuel, boost and timing. Then I thought I might have cracked a dowel pin casting, you know the infamous rear casting but the conditions I have point straight to rotor bearing failure. Best part is I have it all on tape and right before the bearing dies you can actually hear it spinning dry in first gear when I take off from the pit lane. ouch!
That oil pressure problem was most likely the cause of this engines death. I don't know how in good of shape the internals were on this motor, it was on its third rebuild(only 30,000 miles total on the engine though, dont know about the rotors life though). I definitly should have known better then to take the car to the track will lower then stock oil pressure but man those three laps were ******* sick. The car handled like a champ and freaked the hell out of me. Between the acceleration, the hard braking and the lateral G's it was a BLAST. Plus chasing down Porsches was a good pat on the shoulder for the old rotary. This owner of a 2005 Carrera S was very inpressed by the cars power and stability and said he had a very hard time keeping up with me on the back stretch after 90 mph. The car hit about 145 on the back stretch of the track. Scary because you go through a set of small S's when you are at about 120.
I only wish the car would have survived because there was this 2006 Porsche GT3 there that was beautiful and I wanted to go rounds with it. My buddy John W was there with his NSX and he was playing cat and mouse with the GT3 all day. Everybody was shocked that the NSX was keeping up with a Porsche that has 130 horse over him not to mention percision engineering in suspension and aerodynamics. The driver of the porsche was very skilled as well but John is one of the best drivers in the state. If john was driving the Porsche it would have been a different story I think. Kind of hard for a owner of a 140,000 dollar car to push the envelope and not be worried if your life savings will end up in the wheat field.
Anyway, sucks about the car but I will rebuild it this winter and will get everything else finished for the road race next year. I am hooked, never really got to see what my car was capable of on the track and now that I have a taste she is gonna be my little race car.
keep you all up to date guys.
I was also thinking of doing an LS1 swap but good old Ransom talked me out of it. Thanks man, I must have been taking crazy pills. I tell you what, if it would have been an apex seal, I most likely would have gone that route.

I guess I should rephrase that. My speedo cable came off the tranny the other night. I don't know if its broke yet. I have no time right now as I am getting ready for my wedding on Saturday the 21st. It is at my Grandmas house on central west. The reception is at around 4:00 at the northwest center. I will be expecting you all to atleast show up at some point. Haha if you can't I understand. If you need directions to either place call me and I will give them.

Hey Sean I found that dual EGT gauge. This one is cool its made for the rotary its one side for the front and one for the rear rotor. Would be a good idea like you said for tuning once you get er running again. Got the link for you and anyone else who wants to check it out.

Yeah! That is the one I thought I saw. I knew it was from a rotary specialty shop just couldn't remember the name...wanted to say banzi racing for some reason.
It is a really really old school look. Needs orange lettering.
