thanks for the help!!

heres what happened

i have this friend who's wife buys him a 79 rx7. Not in the best of condition drivers side window busted out and no seal for the sun roof. They get it running and my buddies wife decides she is going to mark the battery post with + and - because they cant find the markings on it. One day it wont start so my buddy decides to jump start it and he thinks his wife got the markings backward so he crosses the cables and proceedes to try and jump the car needless to say something went and and he wanted nothing to do with it. So here I am with a 1979 rx7 for free.

Does it sound like Im on the right track? I am planning on a new battery and cables along with the fusible links if these do not work does anybody have any suggestions on what else I could check to get her running?

hey deathshead,

search in the first generation forum for fusible link conversion. It is a quick, cheap, and efficient upgrade. New battery is always a good thing.

Man, i wish i was in MT cruising around with y'all. Have fun.

Kick *** Sean best be givin me a call this weekend either that or I am calling you. Haha

Deathshead we can get together here and either swap in a fuse panel from a 2nd gen or just replace the links. But i would be very worried about the Bat cables and the starter. what I would do is check all the link and replace them. Get it starting before you replace the fuse panel.

So when is are first official meet gonne be? I'd like to have something planned out so we can all clear a day or 2 for the meet that we will be having. Just a good thing to have everything planned out so it can work for all of us. Hopefully we can have limited to no destractions so we can enjoy the meet. Well everyone can throw in ideas of when would be a good time preferably a weekend of coarse.

Later everyone

Well I might fire the car up this weekend if mazdatrix gets my parts here by friday. I guess I can do it either way. We can meet up at the shop on Saturday? Get some food or something and cruise for a bit. If i can't cruise the 7 I will just drive the subie or ride with someone. Let me know what you guys think about saturday.Either that or we can just get as many of us together and brainstorm on something to do?

Sunday would be best for me but it doesn't really matter. Anyone of you dudes work at Fed Ex? My car had a little photo shoot at Golds Gym today with some dudes camera phone. Funny thing was I was watching out the window of the gym the entire time laughing.

Anyway I say Sunday afternoon, 2 ish. Yah or Nah?
