Heh -

Realized i have a military thing on July 10th for a 1/2 day..... so i guess i won't be able to make the meet.

But on a side note the engine is in the car....... I'm tired... that was a bitch this time around.

Yay, got the engine back in the car this weekend. Still need to hook everything back up. Even if I didn't have a wedding to go to this weekend, I'm not sure I'd trust the car to make the 3 hour drive to the meet. I should be at the next one though.

On a side note, does anyone happen to have an extra power steering idler pulley laying around. Mine is trashed. I figure some of you guys must have pulled your A/C and P/S and just have these parts laying around. Shoot me a PM and I'll buy it from you.

I should either have my bike or car running by saturday so I'm pretty sure me and brian are still coming up.

Ian you going to let me know what time you'll be swinging through this way so we can cruise up together?

Ian, the meet isn't with 500 yards of a school or daycare... you should be OK

A progress pic

Got a lot left to do:

-Get some Rad hoses
-Finish Engine Harness (just pin out the connector)
-install seats/shifter/interior
-Fill all the fluids (including tranny) ><
-Run battery cables
-Finish terminating the WB inside the car

Things I'd love to get done but won't:

-Install my new Coil overs
-Install my TII diff
-Install my AI kit

Even if I could go to the meet I wouldn't have it done in time.

Should be done in a week or so (I usually put 1-3hrs of work in a night).

On the flip side of that though he would at least most likely be able to drive his car to the meets. Just sayin'.

ugh....

I got one of those feelings that things are going too smoothly.

I thought that I wired my MAP sensor incorrectly for a moment - then I realized I just needed to change the haltech from internal 2.5bar to external 3 bar

I finished the battery cable and engine wiring....

I might try to run the car tomorrow.

Got a couple pictures. The overwhelming majority of my pics were overexposed...shutter speed fail . I tried to doctor them up a bit. Nothing terribly exciting, but I figured what the hell, pretty stuff to look at.

Nice Tim!

Well, as luck would have it it looks like I won't be wanting another RX-7 right now. lol I'm most likely going to pick up my daily driver/parts hauler this weekend, so I won't have any extra time/money to spend on a project car unfortunately.

hey jason,
what are the chances you have any spare engine parts lying around?
primarily a good shape center iron?

I have quite a few engine parts- but like most things it hit and miss.

As for the center iron it's almost cheaper buying a blown core.

I've looked for a while because I wanted to replace mine (my fuel rail I had to re-tap) but the price was just stupid high.

I should buy a core and part it out - that's actually good money as everyone want stupid amounts for wp/front cover/irons etc.

Well started the car up tonight - so that's good.

Ran for about 10 seconds before I shut it off (felt good - throttle response etc).

I converted from 2.5bar to 3bar sensor so I needed to remap fuel maps.

These last few days have been troublesome for me so it should make up for the easy days I had earlier in the build.

Finally installed my 120 Amp Circuit breaker to finish the battery relocation -80A fuse is only good for about 5-6 cranks in a row

After that 10 seconds of running and building enough oil pressure I found out I had cracked my aluminum oil pedestal.....

Before that I was cursing the Mobil One oil filter I had put on as I spend about 1hr just try'n to get it off..... Those seals must expand when they contact oil because the car never even ran but took the wrath of god to remove.

So I will finish the other parts of the car while I wait for the oil filter pedestal to come in.

I can finally start to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Good to hear Jason!

On the oil filter - I love those Mobil 1 filters because they don't use the cheap flat gasket that always gets stuck to the pedestal. But yes, I do believe the seal expands a bit when it contacts oil, unless you just didn't put any oil on the seal before you installed it. :P

I put oil around it-

After thinking about it, probably was the cracked aluminum that didnt' alow it to come off easily.

I didn't know that at the time and was pretty confident I wasn't going to buy one again LOL.

I personally like Wix

Steady progress on the FD-

Another night and I'll finish up the interior (one door panel left).

I put 3 mats of Dynamat extreme on one door and it's night and day difference.

No more door squeeks for me!

I think I've ended up putting about 150lbs of sound deadener so far........

oh and I've found a funny pic on my PC tonight (Edogg sporting some custom eye protection fabed out of trash from a garbage can).
