im hoping to make it sooner, but if i dont i will come in the truck lol.

 

Im hoping I can have my FC ready, Im dying to go, but I really doubt that will happen since I have too much to do by then...

How often does a meet come around? Every few months if its nice? Hopefully Ill be happy with it by August before I leave state for vacation.

Hey Ive been on the forum a few years, and its really a good thing.
Recently I have been scanning thru the threads of clubs,etc, to see if there is anything
happening locally, in the omaha nebraska area.

So far I havent found much but this Iowa thread really stands out.
Originally I am from fort dodge iowa, left there in 1986.

I did have email contact with a few Rx-7 guys from council bluffs, but they disappeared.
Anyway, its cool to see Iowa represented.

Right now I have a 1988 turbo 2, 76k, one of the best stock ones left,
and also a mint 84 gsl-se, stock.

the complete omaha area and surrounding cities has a good sized population, around 500k,
yet I have only seen a couple Rx-7's over the last few years.
2 3rd gens, nice ones, and a 2nd gen convertible or two.
I definately have the best ones in omaha, ha.
These cars are disappearing so fast its kinda depressing.

Actually I live only about 2 miles from iowa, and I drive over every week or so, if I go to CB.
Growing up in the 70's and early 80's, I never even saw an RX-7 in iowa, fort dodge didnt have a dealership or anything. I imagine there is one in des moines now...

Iowa is a great place. Life is good...

Does anyone happen to have a S4 water pump and water pump housing laying around that they want to get rid of? I can't find my housing and the water pump itself has seen better days. I need one to finish up my engine so I can get the car on the road.

Yes and Yes. I'll have to figure out how long it takes to get there and then we can figure up a time to meet up. I always like to leave early "just in case".

Here is some progress pics.

I've been pleased with how everything has been coming along nicely.

Today I mounted my 130A Tarus SHO alternator...... more powa!

 

She's looking good J! Did you do any porting on the motor? I can't wait to see this thing in person!

Nope- just the cleaned up ports that I was using earlier.

I just took it down to the block (took front cover and oil pan off).

I did that because putting in a different tranny and take'n care of an oil pan leak.

I got a lot of parts to install/modify yet.

The radiator will be what holds me up most likely as I have to make new brackets/mounting.

I still plan on making the meet.

I cleaned up the garage last night to prepare for the engine install...... goal is to have it mostly done by the end of the holiday weekend.

I included a pic of some of the wiring I did a few months earlier......

I litterally redid everything in my car from my CD player to my Engine harness.

 

Finished up the radiator mount.

Took a lot of work but happy with how it turned out.

I left room between the IC and Rad for the condensor (I will install A/C one of these years.....)

Tranny is mounted and just finishing terminating the wiring...... If all goes well it should be in the car tomorrow but I might take my time.......
