Megasquirt Help with Easytherm please
Help with Easytherm please
I'm having trouble getting my IAT to work correctly, I've tried using several combinations in ET but to no avail. I'm using a V3.0 board with the MS-I chip and I have R4 replaced with a 33k resistor and R7 is still the 2490 i believe is what the board came with. Could someone please make the files for me and explain what exactly to do with them. Thank you for you help, it is much appreciated.
Let's start at the top. The Megasquirt program code is stored on your desktop/laptop as a file with .s19 extension. The latest stable release of msnsextra, which is the code virtually everyone with a rotary is running, is 029q2, which is found here:
http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/
1. Download the zip file from the site listed above, and copy the msnsextra.s19 file from the 029q2 zip file to your C:\Program Files\Megasquirt\car1 folder.
2. Connect your MS box to the computer, and power it up using a decent 12v supply. Verify it's running and connected properly by checking with Megatune, but close Megatune once that's verified.
3. If your MS box still has the original V3.0 code running in the cpu, you'll need to remove power, open the box, short the boot jumper, and then re-power the MS. If you've already been running an earlier version of msnsextra, then you can skip this step.
4. Run EasyTherm, and pick RX7 defaults from the pull-down menu. Change the air temp bias resistor value on the screen to match what you actually used, 33000.
5. Select 'Custom', choose the correct COM port, and hit 'Write'. When prompted, browse to the car1 folder, and selct that .s19 file you copied over in step #1. Let EasyTherm copy the .inc files over to your mtCfg folder as it suggests.
6. Once step 5 is done, hit 'Download'. Browse to the newly created 'msnsextra_mod.s19' file. Follow the steps indicated in the messages, and about 2 minutes later, your box will be re-flashed with the new code with proper lookup tables for the Mazda sensors.
Afterwards, install the MS, and check the reported coolant and air temperatures reported by MegaTune. They should be within a few degrees of one another. If they are not, there may be a wiring or sensor problem.
