I did some work for a guy and he paid me with two 1997 Recaro Pole Position SPG seats. I've tried searching that seat in particular, and nothing definitive. I'd prefer not to rub the door panels as they are dyed. Not sure if this will be possible or not. Its for a 1993 FD. Thanks for any help.

 

Also, do they come in different sizes? I'm a big guy and they fit me. 38" waist.

 

Awesome idea! How would they compair to Angry Panda replica recaros? Just curious since I’m currently running those.

 

the max width to sit comfortable for pole position is 36"

it wont fit you at all

 

the angry panda replica recaro is copy of the rz seat, they are good for the street car , however doesnt grip and support as well as the actual pole position.

We actually worked with Angry Panda originally to try to bring those seats into the states. We got two sample seats, and what we found after disassembling them was appalling. I won't go into the details here, but I would not sell them to customers let alone install these seats into my own car and drive around without being legitimately fearful of dying in an accident... it was that bad, The material quality on the surface layer looked great... what was inside the seats would scare you into removing them. They're fundamentally unsafe in every way to be inside an automobile, street or track car.


We're working on a tilt seat rail currently for the pole positions, with a seat mount and slider rail (please see the above linked thread)
