Mazdaspeed-I too am in the process of making a radio surround out of CF! Made the mold for the shifter surround today. Hey what weight CF are you using? How many "plies" of CF are in the cooling panel? I dont know but I thought the idea of fenders made from CF was a good idea, not many people doing that. The thought had crossed my mind a while back.

The stock fenders are suprisingly light. You would only lose a few lbs from the pair. When I make fenders, like any exterior panels, it will be kevlar as opposed to cf. Kevlar is more impact risistant and more resiliant than cf, its also a little lighter.

Ill have an updated price list soon, with the door sills and a few other things possibly on it.
Why not use kevlar for the other pieces? More expensive? Not as pretty?

Kevlar is lighter than CF, as well as having a strength. But it isnt nearly as stiff as CF. Its best suited to things you want to be a little flexible, like body panels. Good bye door dings.

I would be interested in the S5 stereo surround and shifter surround, and door sills. I wouldn't really need the ashtray but does it have the lighter?

What about armrests? They shouldn't be too hard if you don't have power windows.

New stereo comes this Friday, and Id like to have it and the CF piece installed sometime next weeks.

Doesnt look like that is going to happen.

BTW, its the new Kenwood X659 Excelon MP3 player. MMMM.

Also, mazdaspeed, will these be done by April 10th?

Please let us know what you are doing to have these CF pieces ready soon
