If you're serious, then PM me with more info...I just purchased a 12" elemental designs 13kv.2 about 2 mins ago off ebay, but I haven't purchased a box for it. I'd hate to put a standard hatch box in there if I can get something a little more custom.

Where is morgantown anyway? I'm about 1.5 hours from the outer banks (so pretty close to the coast). Anyway, let me know and we may be able to work something out. I should have my car back on the road in about a week...it's been getting a new fmic and some other things put on.

^^ Is there an app. markup % for audio equipment? Like, a speaker at retail is 200% of the cost?

& are you offering discounts to anyone?

there is no standard markup, some are 50%, some are 150% it really all depends on the company

By the sounds of it 81gsl12a, your just making a mold of the spare tire comp, and a custom setup. We dont want a mold of that, we want an exact replica of the JL stealth box. if you dont have one of those to copy then im out.

Someone walked away with my ******* Nikon D70 and memory card at my buddies shop. Anyways, the lexan/plexi from tap plastics is going to run about $100 to duplicate the stock piece. The box uses a resin base, reinforced with mdf rings for the sub mounts (sandwiched), and again a MDF ring on the top for the plexi mounting.

Getting form fitting carpet is the ONLY problem me and my friend have encountered so far. ANy suggestions guys?

Yea, just plain black carpet will be fine, or just ship the box un-carpeted and i'll carpet it myself. It just has to look pretty when you lift up the hatch carpet, thats it. The bottom of the box doesn't have to be "oh-so-nice" cause no one will ever see it.

Acually.... i was thinking of putting the box in and cutting the hatch carpet by the shape of the plexiglass... so you open the hatch and its a regular hatch with a cutout around only the plexiglass with a view of the subs and amp.

...would make for a very clean setup.

I'm not quite as concerened with the carpet as I am the actual enclosure. I can have the enclosure carpeted and the speakers installed here. I can't believe this is happening. People have been looking for these for years.

That would be good...but I would also keep the piece you cut out...and maybe attach some velcro...so that you could put the carpet back down to cover up the system from thieves....just a suggestion.

yea, sounds like a good idea, but i wouldn't want all the crap i throw in my truck scratching it... ok, so i don't keep much in my truck, but still, wouldn't want my beer caps to scratch the plexi coming home from the grocery store.

a mold of the turnk is more or less all that box is... with a amp rack inside of it.. its very ez to copy just from the pics of it... like The Spyder said its got MDF rings for everything to mount to.. and a port to help keep the amp cool...the only down fall is the amp takes up air space and tuning the box would change with the size of the amp used.. if every1 used diff amps then every box would be tuned diff...

i am fine with not doing it.. just thought i would help out... just so you know no1 else has a mold of the JL box they are just copying it

Guys, I talked to Cat Five again and they have sourced a vendor to build for us... a Vacuum molded polymer box.

They want to know if we want a smaller sub with amp enclosed in the box or a larger sub with no amp.

I'd like to know what you guys would prefer.

As we have all said before, "just like the original JL Audio Stealth Box". There should be no confusion with this. If it is anything aside from that, you will have lost my business. I'm not interested in anything else.
