Looking for JL Audio Stealthbox for FD
I have one and they sound great, from my understanding they only made less than 100 of them. I bought mine for $50 at a shop that had one sitting in there store room for about 8 years.
They retailed for $600 .

How about I make it in carbon fiber?
I want this myself as well. Whoever can donate one, I will give him a free CF one in return. I can make it in fiberglass too if you don't like the CF look.

Ive already fabricated a prototype up, and Ive having the fiberglass molds made as we speak, I never realized how expensive the process is, but I decided to take it on.
There was a JL Stealthbox for sale last week on ebay for the 3rd gen. The final bid was just over $500 (+ $70 shipping), which did not meet the reserve. The buy it now price he had set was $1100 which was outrageous. He claimed they listed at $800 new, which I find hard to believe. Hopefully he'll list it again later for a more reasonable price.
Images were posted, but they are no longer up. It is carpeted in dark grey, replaces the spare tire, has 2 down-firing 8" subs, and a plexiglass window on top which allows you to see the magnets of the woofer. An amp can also be housed within the stealthbox. All is hidden by your trunk's factory carpet.
I am checking w/ local stereo shops to see what they would charge to build a fiberglass enclosure for a single 10 (for spare tire compartment). Got one quote so far of approx $200 for the box itself.
Chuck from Rotary Extreme had mentioned making one out of carbon fiber if he can get a sample box. Do any of you speaker gurus know if CF is suitable for an enclosure?
