I've PM'd the developer that he should contact IB with a group buy. He may make one more adjustment to the design. Personally...I'm thinking I may use these in place of my R1/Base brackets...that is how much I like them.

Question: For those of you planning to run aftermarket speakers in these brackets. The stock Base/R1 style brackets have a slot for the speaker wire to run through which leaves the space behind the door fairly enclosed. See pictures below.

On these brackets would you like a notch cut into place so you can continue using the stock connector or would you prefer the area completely sealed and run new wires up and behind the bracket into the speaker? It might be able to make both options available as well.

Well for the BOSE people we have to run new wires since the originals are signal wires way too small for 6.5 inch drivers. So I dont think the BOSE owners will care much. But if you got stock BASE/R1 wiring i suppose you may want to keep it.

Probably won't need it... As mentioned above, aftermarket wires should be ran, I did mine through the factory grommet/cable housing in the door

Should be mention that a small slot will be needed at least regardless for normal door wiring (that the speaker wire branches off of) unless everyone plans to reroute that as well. I'm thinking about asking the developer to leave like a 1" x 1" notch.

Okay, Okay....They look nice. Quit the chat about them and tell me how I can get a pair..lol. The big question everyone including me wants answered is: Where/How/When can I get them?

I sent the developer follow up tweaks with photos several weeks ago. I'm waiting on him now...and I offered to pay for the group buy and be his sales rep. So idk.

I honestly think part of the problem is he does not have an FD. If this takes a month or two to get from him I may to turn to a local source for these so the last details can be ironed out. I took out my R1/Base brackets to run these...there is more depth available and they work great...I've been running 6.5" Infinity Reference Series up front and love everything about these brackets.

Nizz I could...but the guy put the effort into getting this far. I'd prefer it to be win/win and let him make them and then I handle the group buy for them. I prefer to have integrity and work with people.

If he doesn't come through in 30 days or so and since I believe there are one or two more valuable tweaks that could be made for the design, I'll probably just have my local guy make my adjustments and then start popping them out. I'm going to contact this guy and let him know my plans and maybe that will kickstart things.

In my opinion there are two minor flaws that need to be corrected still.

I have waited since 1995 for this so I guess I could wait a little longer. Thanks for doing the leg work so this fat *** does not have to do it.

Take your time and do it right. The winter months are coming, and everyone will be doing work on their car. So the rush to get it done during the summer, so people could cruise and listen to music is over.

If it is done right, you will be able to sell plenty of these not only here, but all over ebay for sure.

Update. As it has been more than a month since I've heard from the guy I was working with and these have been in "development" for over 6th months I've decided to do the following:

The biggest issue in the development process is that I sent my speaker cores to the guy we were working with. He does not have an FD to test them on and their are a few nuances that I do not think are possible to recreate without an FD.

To that end, I've enlisted the help of a client of mine to clear up the design and another client who owns a speaker manufacturing company to CNC the brackets whereas the other developer was apparently hand cutting these on a jigsaw or something.

Using my parts car we are also starting development on a replacement bracket/cover for the map pocket rear quarter panels, followed by a subwoofer enclosure and "no cut" tweeter brackets for the A-pillars.

The new product will be superior to what was going to be produced, different, and available rapidly. The Group Buy will start on January 1st via the forums with a special introductory offer that includes shipping in the US. I genuinely believe that you will be very pleased by the new kit.

Yea...I've got the newest version coming back to me on Monday for a test fit on mine. Will begin manufacturing after that barring any additional fits. It should be noted that these provide more space than the stock R1/Base Brackets...I'm replacing my R1 brackets with these.
