Yeah, my passenger side speaker just started fizzing on me yesterday. Looks like I'll be looking at the ebay ones.

I just said "screw it" and paid $30/pair (in addition to the regular installation fee) to have Custom Sounds install my speakers with custom brackets on the front (fronts are components), rear, and they made some nice grilles for the rear as well. I'll try and remember to take some pictures of the rear grilles soon. So it was $60/pair (30 for installation, 30 for custom brackets) for $120 total plus tax to not have to worry about it anymore. I'm quite pleased.

^ what size speakers did you install in the front? What do the custom brackets look like? Were they completely new units, or something fabbed onto the stock units?

also, anyone have pics of the eBay ones during/after install? I heard they don't fit that well out-of-the-box and some modification is needed to fit nicely?

re: the Ebay brackets - they fit great out of the box - just the spacer for the two raised portion attaching points,(attaching to the door that is), they need a larger spacer. That's it. I fit a 6.5" speaker in it.

those are the ones i got for the front and they worked perfect, i think you will only b able to use the rear brackets if you already had speakers there and not the usless map pockets.

Back from the dead.

Can you use the Bose enclosure with this adapter to still somewhat maintain a "sealed" effect?

So, I actually never got these and installed them. I bought a house and moved and started working on my house and the poor RX7 has been resting in the garage most of time occasionally being driven. The other day I was trying to listen to the radio and no doubt that my subwoofer is completely drowning out the mids and highs. I need to go ahead and install these and when I went to buy them I found all these photos on the seller's website so i figured I would post the link to the photos so everyone can see what installation looks like.

It looks like you used the factory wiring with those new speakers, does it sound ok? I did the same and mine really dont sound very good, trying to figure out if the stock wiring is my problem or something else.

I have the Infinity Reference 6.5" on the factory wiring. Anything above sound lvl 22 on my head unit (kenwood), sounds like garbage. I'm not sure if it is the speakers or wiring either.
