Timing drifting with RPM
I am aware that once timing is zeroed and locked it should remain fixed to what ever degrees you have it locked to. I notice on my car if I lock the timing and rev the engine while using the light. It will drift slowly towards retard approx. 1degree per 1000 rpm. So by 5000rpm it will retard 5*. When I let it back to idle it will go right back to where it was locked.
What is the cause of this and how can I have it rectified?

VR sensors do this. On the trigger setup page enable variable trigger angle. This will enable a map in the menu tree on the left side. This is a trigger angle versus rpm map and allows you to dial out this drift.

Sorry, fogot to mention this is an E8 on a FD w/stock ignition.
Is this feature available on the e8? If not what else could cause the steady drift?

With the E8 he cannot.

I attempted to set the trigger angle vs rpm map last evening. Kinda scary free reving engine as high as 8000 rpm to dial out tis drift, however i think I got it pretty close. It took me about an hour to do since I paused several times to let the engine cool. The exhaust manifold was glowing orange.
I have listed below my final settings. They are non linear, please let me know if they are close to what you guys have come up with for the FD with stock CAS.

I usually see 4-5*. Just saw a quote on EFI-101 that said, "Give the engine what it asks for, don't tell it what it needs." That applies here. If that's what works, then it works.

Please explain 4 - 5*. Do you mean 4 - 5 degees difference at each rpm point or the setting should be at 4 or 5 at each rpm point. My highest setting is 66.9 at 0rpm and lowest 54.8 @ 8000 rpm, which is a difference of 12. Is this what you are referring to?
