Throttle body when going standalone?

I'm about to purchase a Haltech elite and harness for my 88 turbo. What do I delete on my TB before going full standalone? Also since I have an S4 my TPS is not full range, I've heard of people using old ford sensors on the OMP shaft. Does anybody have any advice on how they got a full range TPS? I'd really prefer to not buy a s5 TB.

There is nothing inherently "short range" about the S4 sensor itself, it is simply the cam which the sensor rides on. I got a cam from a donor S5 TB. Cheap, easy, elegant.

I found this pdf on the forum with a replacement cam I can cut out of steel for the S4 throttle body that gives it full range. But aside from the TPS, what other mods do I need to make to the throttle body? Currently the lower coolant nipple on the TB is cracked off so the TB is bypassed. Would I need to remove the thermowax or the secondary throttle blades?

you can remove the thermowax, the throttle plates are mechanical, so you can leave them (make sure they open, most don't)

Could the haltech use the BAC to bump the idle up to replace the themowax?

yep! its the tidier way to do it, but you could leave the thermowax if you wanted

You don't really need a TPS past one third throttle, this is kind of why Mazda did what they did.

But, if the ECU see 30% throttle as 100%, as it will with the S4 arrangement, the TPS delta is completely screwed and you get wonky transient enrichment. The ECU wants to see a full sweep, linear sensor.
