Getting close to finishing the wiring...a few questions

750 with single wide band .

can I connect the speed sensor from the 1983 dash cluster as a source?

does launch control increase the risk of damage to the drive train?

can I use launch control with a mechanical throttle body?

is it worth it for non competitive driving?

there is no issue mounting the ecu to plastic?

any safety issues I need to know? Is it ok to power up the system if everything is not connected?

Thanks!

1. I'm not familiar with that, if mechanical speedo then no?
2. Any type of launching the car in a race environment can break things.
3. Yes
4. No
5. No
6. Yes

But don't take my word for any of this. Doing your own research is the key to being competent imo.

The FB speedometer has a Hall effect (I believe) sensorium on the speedometer itself . This supply’s an analog reference to the cruise control module.

I was not planning on launch control but the videos I watched raised the curiosity. I was hoping for in the trenches opinions and not marketing hype.

yes the FB speedo outputs the signal that would eventually end up at the cruise control unit, and that works. i think it is an AC voltage, but i'm not sure, the ECU can use it, that part is for sure.
