e8 problems

I am pretty fed up with dealing with my haltech install. Since there is no one close to me that can do the haltech install i am wondering if there is some place i can send my harness to be made correctly. Also, is there a place besides haltech itself that i can send my e8 to make sure that it is working correctly. Thanks

If there's someone local who has en E8 car that's running properly, swap ECU's with them if they're willing.

Whats the issues?

I'm about 4 hours to the East. I've also done custom harnesses. Drop me a pm.

the car is difficult to start. I have gotten it to idle and checked the timing and the L1 coil is flashing wtih the yellow marker. The car barely revs, when i do rev it a bit and release the gas it dies almost immediately. Also, when i rev it it belches large quantities of smoke out of the tail pipe. The engine is a 13bt HBP with an a-spec 500r turbo. I emailed BDC, the guy who did the port job for help on the map but i have yet to get a response.

thanks for the help

To me, sounds like you've got a tune issue and bad plugs.

How many miles on the engine and what map's it running right now?

Find a competent installer / tuner.
The fault is not with the Haltech.

I just put down 240 at the wheels on a Dyna Pack.
Stock turbo, 11psi
Stock TMIC
Stock fuel pump - oops
*87* octane
Haltech E8

It does wonders when you let an expert do the job.

i am realizing that wiring/tuning is not my forte. i just want to get this bloody thing working so i can take it to get it tuned. I have not found a good haltech guy in my town. I can send my harness away but that is not my favorite option. I am fairly confident that my harness is right. I guess we will find out once i get my new basemap from my engine porter.
