I spoke to some guys at haltech au a while back about an adapter harness for my series 8. Think it was john or joe, cant remember, but they did have some harnesses that they made for the 6 and 8 series but never did sold because they had issue controlling everything.. (black Box and pre black box models).

You should give them a call and see if you can get one.

I ended up just building my own harness with a loom extender and slicing in the haltech. Everything works as need, only thing is I have two ecu's now for a small compartment.. lol

My bad. I was thinking series 7+. The Sport patch loom will work but it does not have the serial cable. We've retrofitted the serial cable to the patch looms in the past. If anyone is interested, drop me a PM. We can also build custom patch looms.

The issue would be in obtaining the ECU connector and proper pinout for the S8. If I can get that and the customer can provide a harness we charge $150 plus the cost of the connector to build patch looms. If the customer can't provide a harness the price would go up by $100.

I've never even seen the late model ECU to know what the connector looks like.

I just got off the phone with Haltech and apparently they have just released a S7/8 patch loom! It is built for a Sport 1000 but can be used with the 2000. The user would need to populate the additional inputs and outputs of the 2000 themselves. We can provide additional pins to accomplish this. Price will be $400 for the loom itself, or if you buy the ECU and harness together it will be priced at the same price as the long flying lead kits.

Also, to back up on my earlier E8/11 statement, there may be some left over harnesses with the serial connector already installed. I just received a Miata patch loom that is a carry over and has the serial connector built in to the harness. Best thing to do, if you want an E8/11 harness is to PM or call and we'll double check what is in stock before we place the order to know what we're getting into.

Can you find out about one for the E8 to work in a series 6 Rx7 (JDM/RHD) model ?
Also, what else would be needed for this to work in the car ? Does this use the stock sensors ?

Thanks

Haltech supplied an air temp sensor and extension loom for that sensor with all the patch harnesses now. You will want to use that. You can use the rest of the stock sensors, but I would recommend a 2 or 3 bar external MAP sensor and the Haltech direct replacement coolant temp sensor. The E8/11 can be very buggy when trying to enter custom calibrations and using the Haltech sensors allows you to use the default calibrations and avoid potential issues.

We can definitely get the harness. If it does not have the serial connection built in to the harness we can add it without issue. Price for the harness is $400 plus shipping. PM if you want us to start the order.
