Wiring harness question
Wiring harness question
Hey rx7club members, I just bought a 91 rx7 vert. Me and my friends just recently took the engine out and we're thinking of replacing the motor and perhaps trans with a s5 Jdm turbo 2 complete swap. But my question is do we need a usdm turbo 2 wiring harness to plug and play with the Jdm motor or could We use the usdm naturally aspirated wiring harness with modifications or will the n/a wiring work at all? The n374 Ecu I assume we will have to get it chipped to have it run properly. Also was thinking how about just runing it with the whole Jdm engine harness and ecu, I know that we need a Lhd harness but is it possible just to run it like it came from Japan. One of my buddies is an electrician and wiring is not a problem for him and We don't mind cutting and splicing because it will be done properly and hidden away. Please anybody shed some light on this for me as me and my buddies are just getting into rotary and this would be are little track only drift car project.
So n/a harness will work with turbo 2
So the n/a harness should work for the jdm turbo 2 engine.or would I need to source a usdm s5 turbo 2 engine harness
The harness does not connect to the engine but it does connect to the various sensors on the engine thus this is why you use the USDM sensors and wiring harness. There will be a few alterations in the USDM harness such as the BAC, alternator, boost sensor and so on but this info is found within threads where the very same swap has been done over, and over, and over, and over, and over..... (you get the idea). Use the advanced search feature and you will find the necessary info down to the T.
