It's looking pretty good though I must say. Now the hardest part is matching both sides and look identical.

first coat of body filler on! i should have the driver side plug done this week end, or early next week.

3rd coat on now. i have a few more areas to build up, then some sculpting/shaping to follow.

not great pics cant really see the lines too well, but here are a few more for what its worth. there are still only 3 light holes the new ones are where i went into and/or through the foam getting the lines right.

 

Yeah, thats looking really good. I can see the look in my head at least haha.

 

These pics are after a bit more shaping followed by a coat of body filler for better shape.
There is also better lighting so you can see the lines better.

 

So are you going to get these exactly the way you want them then make a mold for plastic injection?

 

God these things make me think of cupcakes with icing...mmmm....cupcakes.

 

im going to be using fiberglass cloth with an epoxy resin. epoxy resin is more expensive but i feel the benefits of epoxy over polyester is worth it. its stronger, not as brittle, there are a number of benefits that i dont feel like typing right now.

i would suggest not eating foam with bondo, or any body filler for that matter.

Looks great. The third light is going to take a little getting used to, but it'll probably look great once it's all said and done.

 

did you put that filler on with your toes? lol

thats going to suck to sand

 

unless you have an electric sander to rough it then go smooth by hand...need a sander..?

they dont work too well when sanding small round objects

just keep at it, you will get there

 

thats why you use the right sanding ends/dowels to rough it up first, then go into it for fine work.
