What I meant to suggest with regards to having less "tube-ness", was to simply blend the transition more.

Suppose you didn't change the position of your lights in the mockup you've already got one bit, but just added some more clay/filler on top of where the "tube" begins so that there was a smooth, more organic-shaped transition. In my opinion, that would be better in keeping with the styling of these beautifully curve cars.

maybe a higher end look? less cheap? and no C6 comparison, only ferrari comparison, which I prefer.
man if you make these and are actually good quality (I had a heck of a time retrofiting mine) I would seriously consider jumping ship and ditching mine for yours.

FYI-The only reason why I would hesitate is because I put a lot of time and $$ to get my lights where I want them to be.

Yeah, I like both of them too. I don't mind the fact that they could be similar to other cars. I know mine is better and that is all that matters.

is there any way to add a poll this thread being that it is this far into the discussion?

Dan, I think you can go either way and have a hit especially with the quality of lights you are going to use. I personally like the Ferarri look that you have posted and think you could blend the model you have with a bit of the Ferarri "curviness" above the two main lights and call it a day.

That would look killer.

if you wanna make the trip i will give you the first production model for free!!

Im not feelin the ferrari design myself, it feels like there is too narrow. the actual ferrari lights look like they are the same height but like twice as wide. also the curve from the lower inside to the upper outside corner on the ferrari is a lot less drastic.

I think that because the C6 look allows for individual lights to better contour to the curve, where the ferrari look the high and low beam are "tied" together and are level and dot follow the curve well.

mow again those are my feelings...

what do you think?

the magic of the internet, lol.

it took me 1/2 of airforce one followed by angels and demons (enjoyed both movies, hadn't seen angels and demons before, i recommend it.

it is based off of all 2-D pics from different angles, and i haven't seen it in person but i feel its fairly accurate

I see what you're saying, an idea that i just had, is that i could make the is keep the transition as sharp as the light modules will allow, and then for those that want a bit smoother transition can put a bit of body filler in there.

does that sound ok? it would offer people again more customization options.

i dont want it to seem like a cop out so the more opinions the better.

There is too much empty space above the two primary lights in that design. I would pull the curve above your headlights much further back into the "blank" space and then run the "tubes" back into that.

See in the Ferrari design how the curve above the primary lights wraps around to create kind of a tube in itself? I think you could have that effect in yours versus the flatness of your mock up. Add something like this to the C6 design and I think it would look pretty cool.

i think there will still be that empty look, and it just doesnt curve right, IMO.

are you going to make this out of fiberglass?
That will be a bitch to get out of a mold, consider making a multi piece mold so you can split it to get the part out

my intent is to use an injection mold process, with a plastic that has yet to be determined. the lenses will prolly be thermal formed.

not quite to that point just yet.
