Update,

Had to redo some things to get that garrett 785 nominal rating core in there.

So now I have the final cores.

310 hp for all bolt ons with stock turbo only.
575 hp for all you track touge guys.
785 hp for all you hi -power and drag guys.

I had to ditch the stock a/c fan and a small electric pusher fan will go in its place.
I re-made the a/c secure brackets on top so now I put put the I/C lower and a little under the font rad support.

This 785 core is 18x12x4.5.

It sits under the front support that the hood latch bolts to by about 3 inches. There is a smaller opening between the rad and the bottom of the 4.5 thick core. The opening actually faces downward a little bit but it is pointed right at the bottom opening of the FC front bumper. But you have to remember this, the FC is a bottom feeder so with some minimal ducting air is directed between the cores with ease.

It has been hard but this kit is one 100% bolt on with no-modification of the car needed what so-ever. All kits retain a/c, complete with solicone hose, t-bolt clamps teperature controlled fans. With no a/c the rad is completely exposed to fresh air.

Does this mean the kit will be on the market before X-mas?

Because of the redesign to make it better.... no.

The core I really wanted takes 6 to 8 weeks and is special order. because of that I had to work with what they normally have in stock and that is why I had to redesign some brackets.

The 3 kits are really application dependent now. You will have worse performance with the stock turbo and the bigger coolers and that is why the base kit cooler looks smaller compared to the other two. The bas kit is properly sized. The i/c will be offset a little to allow cold air to the stock air box.

The track kit is by far the most universal, but too big for stock turbo and I know some guys will want to make 700+ hp and that is why I needed to shoe horn the biggest core I could in there.

I have 3 kits now, it takes some time to make the rad/oil cooler and a/c to work with all 3 of these cores.

Stayed tunned, I'll have photos soon. I also have the mini bat box kit done so you can buy that or relocate your battery for the two larger vmount kits.

I'll post a link to my new webpage with the mini bat kit when it's done and I'll open a GB with it.

I will also post a link to a folder on my site with some spy photos of the kit. I still need to make the end tanks and the piping for all kits, but the configuaration is done. I just need to finalize some things before I release the kit.

I didn't miss it! And ps., I'll probably eventually take one of these too. Gotta recoup from some recent purchases and bills.

OK,

Here are some pics that I will release that shows enough but still keeps it descret.

In one photo you can see that the oil cooler has its own fresh air source.

Here are the final chosen cores.

Small: good for 280 to 300 whp (stock turbo all bolt on's with higher boost.)

Medium/Track mount: good for 525 whp all day long. The core is

Monster / drag: This core suports 700whp and even though the front goes underneath the rad support, you MUST KEEP IN MIND that the FC is a bottom feeder and when the bumper is on you can see that the Monster vmount still gets fresh ait to all the cores. I feel ok with these photos because it hides most of the bracketry.

Lookin good!

Yes, bracketry IS the key; I can only imagine how much time you spend figuring out how to make everything fit nicely w/o modification. I would have figured you'd at last need to trim the mounting area for the condenser.

Yes I put alot of time into it. Making stuff, re-making stuff, and re-doing it again untill I was able to make it all a complete 100% functional bolt-on kit. No cutting, drilling needed. But you will have to tear a **** load of stuff apart to make it work and you will have to splice the new provided a/c fan in. That was actually the key to getting the 785 hp garrett core in there, swapping the bulky a/c fan for a skinnier one. Also the oil cooler does not sit any lower then its stock hieght, well maybe 1/2 inch lower but thats because its not at an angle anymore, its straight now.

The pics show the stock airbox, but these 2 cores are for bigger turbos and after market intakes. The end tanks will interfere with the stock airbox but the base vmount kit lets you keep it. The base kit has an offset core that still allows fresh air to the stock intake.

This is also why my battery kit is angled, to allow proper placement of the I/C piping.

So with my hood dampers, mini bat kit and vmount kit: the value of your FC will jump about 2500 to 2700....lol

So this is why I already new why my pricing would be target 2k from the get go. I already have 3 FD vmounts and I know what it cost and takes to build a legit vmount kit that is for the most part 100% bolt on with no modification to your car.

Ben

I'm drooling already. That 3rd core looks massive.

I'm sure we will all come to realize we will want the hood dampers after we get the V-mount on. Haha.

I like the battery box alot. But will it also incorporate tie downs? I know these batteries are pretty light but does the battery just sit in the box?

Word on the tie down. I need the battery secures for any type of race, and I'm not buying a 30$ tie down strap at the strip ever again. :/

These batteries are not that light (15lbs) and will not pop out unless you flip upside down. I have the same battery case and battery for the FD for years now with no issues. It fits like a glove and does not vibrate around.

If I incorporate tie downs it will cost 25 more to do it right because I already looked into it.

Trust me, the battery will not come out or vibrate out, or up.

I do not go to that many events, but I never looked into it as it being a rule.

I might reconsider the design.

A simple solution would be to weld a nut to each side and bend a flat strip of aluminum to a U shape to hold the battery.

It would make all the difference. I know its a stupid rule. Close the hood and the bettery wouldn't go anywhere. But gotta have it!
