Is this T2 worth it

Hey everyone I found an 87 T2 in my area. The car is in very good shape with a few minor things like a window switch, wiper switch(big supprise) and a leaky oil pan gasket. The car has 182k on it. Its seems a bit high for the original engine. I started the car up and took it for a test drive. It runs excellent and pulls very good . The miles tend to make me nervous only because I need to drive it untill the end of the summer before getting a rebuild/new engine. The guy is asking $2,495 for it. Just wanted some opinions on weather this is a good deal or if I should keep looking. Thanks for any suggestions/info. Take it easy.

it all depends on the phisical condition of the car. if it's really REALLY clean, hit it up.

If it's in that good of condition, then I would purchase it, but it seems a bit pricey to me...

well, t2's are going up in price lately....god only knows why, but even if you have to pop a motor in there before too long, it's still about the going rate.

Yeah I thought that was a little bit high for one with so much mileage. My luck I would buy it and the engine would pop the next day. Paying almost 3k for a rolling shell doesnt seem worth it, maybe it is I'm new to the T2. Oh yeah the car has no title. Thanks for the opinions everyone. If anyone else is interested the car is located in Auburn Maine. I'll get more info for anyone intrested. Take it easy.

if there's no title, don't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

I decided against this one. I havent had any luck finding a T2 in Maine/New England but hopefully that changes.

lol yeah I thought that was a little odd. I asked him if I could do a compression test or if he could do one in his shop. He's being reluctant so I'm moving on.
