How easy should the engine turn
I went and looked at an engine. The motor had no belts and I grabed the big center pulley and turned it super easily, like I had to do no force at all.
The car is a FB, with a 12A, according to the stamp on the engine.
The guy that is selling the car said that the engine run sometime last year. Has not run since he had it.
Should it be that easy to turn?
Could't take out the spark plugs to ear for the compression sound unfortunatly.
I'm trying to decide if the car is a good buy. It might have some rust issues, nothing to big.
He says that the engine has 45.000 kms. so less than 30 thousand miles.

Yes. Rotaries build no compression at extremely low speeds. I can usually rotate an engine with my thumb pushing on the alternator fan.
This is why compression tests are only valid over 200rpm cranking speed. And why it is crucial to have a good battery and a good starter, slow cranking leads to flooding, which also causes low compression...
