Good deal for a shell?

I'm wondering if anyone thinks this is a good deal. Might be purchasing an 86 t2 with no engine/trans. Has new paint no rust, full interior fd wheels and coilovers with an LSD I'm not sure about the diff though because I thought the turbos came stock with an LSD? And He wants a 1000 firm for it and is in a hurry to sell it. I'm tempted to buy it because a few months ago I bought a turbo 2 that's in rough shape but has a running motor and could swap over parts or the engine.

S4 TII is 87-88, model year 86 was only N/A. Manufacture date on the door sticker of **/86 does not make it model year 86

Our 93 was manufactured 4/92

You need to check the VIN to verify that it is a Turbo II, all US model TIIs start JM1FC332......, the N/A are JM1FC331.......

^^ correct. the model year and the build date are two different things. the model year is kind of a US government picked abstraction, its more about emissions and safety compliance than anything else. if you look at japanese used car ads they hardly ever use a model year.

the 1993 FD is the neat trivia question car, as all of the 1993 model FD's were built between 12/91 and about 6/92, so there were no 1993 FD's built in 1993

the T2 is similar, in that they are 1987 models that showed up sometime in 1986.

Still a couple differences, the 87 has low impedance fuel injectors, with ECU N332 and a resistor pack, the 88 has high impedance , ECU N333 and no resistor pack.
