A larger port such as a bridge port gives you more high end power but takes away from the low end. A moderate port aka street port will increase flow and high end power moderately with only a little loss on the low end. The bigger the port the rougher the idle from what I hear. A bridge port is not streetable.

It's a larger bridgeport. I hear of people now mixing the ports for the different ports....large street/rally port on the primaries and doing something larger on the secondaries (bridge). I don't know the results, but VERY interesting.

A bridge port IS street able... your going to notice a LARGE drop in gas mileage if you go with a large port IE bridge port or mostor port AKA j port... A monstor port will not last verry long maby 10k miles... Your also going to be makeing all your power higher... with like a 10k rpm power band...

Yes, you will need to separate the housings in order to perform the port job. It would be a good idea to get a gasket set, but you may be able to get by buying the most critical gaskets/seals. I personally would go for a full set though. Atkins usually has them on ebay for ~$80 and up depending on the engine/year. I agree with what the others are saying about the trade offs in different ports. If it were me, I would stick with a street port for crusing around town. If you are racing, then you would want to go larger like a bridgeport.

Using different porting on the primary and secondary is old news... What do you think Mazda made the 6 port for? That came out in 84!!! I even do it on a basic street port, idles like stock but revs much better. Of course no one bother to ask what engine he has...duh. Why is it every wannabe on this board spouts off to the FNGs like they know what they're talking about?
