Hey Riz! Good buddy, are you still with us? It's beginning to remind me of the scene in Ferris Bueller's day off where his teacher is taking roll...Riz - Riz , has anyone seen Riz?

Hey everyone, very sorry for the delay and no response. I've been waiting on certain information to be provided to me. I've also been waiting on my original kit back as well as the first production kit to be tested.

I will do my *best* to find out what the delay is and let everyone know. I was under the impression that these would've been completed already so I'm not pleased myself.

Thanks,
-Rizwan

too bad... communication really isn't that hard. doesn't bode well for the eventual production of this kit.

I'm sorry but I'll have to disagree with you on this one. A project of this nature takes time especially when we're looking to release the highest quality kit possible. Like I've said many times before we are not simply reproducing the original, we are redesigning certaing aspects of this kit. Just because I don't constantly update this thread does not mean work is not progressing.

At the sametime we have collected ZERO deposits from any members on this board. If that was the case I can understand your being upset. However, that is not.

With that being said, I will not update this thread further until I have specifics regarding pricing and pictures. I thought it would be a good idea to keep everyone in the loop, but that no longer seems to be the case. At that point in time, we'll open an official GB thread with details and specifics.

Thank you,
-Rizwan

Didn't say anything about time. Realize it takes time to get it done right. Communication doesn't take much time. The problem you're experiencing now is that pictures let's everyone know that we're not just talking vapor ware. Showing pictures of your progress, even things that are obviously not quite right, is still a valuable exercise because you WILL help get people more interested in what you're doing and give them enough confidence to delay potential other purchases.

I'm not upset. In fact, I don't really care anymore. All I'm saying is that better communication well help you engage more customers. That better communication would include pictures of your progress.

This is the internet. Nothing is real without pictures. Too many poseurs for anything else to hold water. That's the reality. As someone trying to sell me something, it behooves you to understand that context and act accordingly. Because I've lost confidence that it's actually real, I've moved on and started to make other plans. You WILL lose other customers as they lose confidence as well.

Or, you can do whatever you want and that's fine too. My advice, however, is good advice.

If it turns out to be real, some of those lost customers will come back to you. Others will be lost forever. It's your business. Not mine. In my business, I try build customer excitement and loyalty as I build new stuff. You can do whatever suits you. Communication is CHEAP and it works.

I don't think he was trying to be hurtful at all guys. . .I agree with him and find his advice to be nothing but helpful and honest. You might not give a f*#k, and that's just fine. You are entitled to. However, it does feel like you don't give a f*#k, which isn't the best for building a customer base. We realize you are holding a very rare product, and you therefore have something of a monopoly. It seems like you are really just riding that out rather than exhibiting good business practices.

I'm not trying to be inflammatory or insulting, I'm just presenting how it seems, as honestly as possible, from where I'm sitting.

Hope to see some progress soon.

So far it's been anything but you constantly updating this thread, 2nd - not keeping potential customers "in the loop" just doesn't make any sense. We are not mad, just disappointed. You want yours, we want ours. Please don't treat us like mushrooms.

I appreciate your advice Carl and I do believe I took your comments out of context. For that, I apologize. It's unfortunate that you've moved on, but honestly I can't fault you. I know I'm able to wait, but that's not necessarily the case for everyone else. I also do understand that communication is essential, but I don't understand how everyone expects me to communicate information I do not yet have. Oh well...

Calculon, you should know that that's definitely NOT the case. I absolutely do care. In fact, when Pure was going to have these lights reproduced I was just as anxious to be a customer as you all are now. I've waited to find these lights for over 5 years now and was just happy to see that I would potentially finally have an opportunity to own them.

Re Monopoly: You and I both know that I contacted you originally to go in on this venture with me. You were not interested. One of the only reasons I purchased this kit from Pure was because I did not want to see this opportunity fade away. If someone else purchased them I couldn't guarantee that I would ever see this kit for sale again and I wasn't willing to accept that risk. I would think if anyone would appreciate the effort I put behind this to make this happen, it might be you.

Since I have no objection to taking advice, especially that of potential customers...I'll show you all pictures that I currently have. The most significant reason for the delay has been the restructuring/redesigning of the mounting brackets. These were provided to me just over a month ago.

These headlight blanks are ready for laser cut / minus round cutout. We’re going to be using a thicker material to support these pieces, of course. This was just done for mock-up purposes.

Thanks!

No, not just yet. I will be speaking with the fabricator sometime this week though and will update with whatever new information I'm provided with. Thanks!

Slight (i.e useless) Update :

*Briefly* spoke with the fabricator today. Unfortunately, he was quite busy so we didn't have time to really discuss anything. He did mention that he has more information/updates to provide me with regarding progress on these. I'm awaiting either an email or a call back at which point I'll relay that information. It's been awhile since I last spoke with him so I'm hoping it's either regarding pricing or that we're nearing the completion of the entire kit!

Thanks!,
-Riz

Minor/Major Update: Just depends on perspective I guess

Anyways, I spoke to the fabricator this week and it appears that the headlight buckets, brackets, and lexan covers are complete for the kit. The only thing needed now is to test-fit. I will be having the replicated versions sent to me so that I can verify fitment. They've already been tested/produced on an FD, but we would like to be as sure as possible that there won't be any issues once we're ready to sell. I will also post pictures of fitment so that any interested party can see and verify for themselves.

We're still working on determining the most appropriate lighting to be used with this kit. However, we are and will offer this kit for sale even if the light sourcing hasn't been determined. Therefore, if customers would like to design their own lighting, they'll be able to do so.

Finally, pricing has not yet been finalized. We're still determining what the minimum production run will have to be. I'll update as soon as I have this information handy.

Thank you all,
-Rizwan
