Any news? Going with the H-4 option for the main lights? Also, any more pics?

 

I believe we're considering going with the H-4's as the main lights. With the help of another forum member these lights will be test-fitted to ensure proper fitment and the lighting decisions will be finalized. If I'm presented with a choice of lighting options I'll post them up here to determine the best option.


Also, I was just told a few days ago that the buckets, brackets, and lexan covers are 95% complete. Additional reinforcement was added to the brackets accounting for the delay from my last update. The brackets will be offered in three finishes:


Nickel Coated

Nickel Coated Black

Powder Coated Silver



Unfortunately, I don't have additional pictures at the moment. I'll work on getting these...

So sorry...I haven't checked back here in a bit. Didn't realize anyone posted.


Anyways, I've been pushing my fabricator HARD for pictures. Instead of pictures, he has promised me that the nearly-completed kit will be sent out to me sometime next week. It includes the housings, covers, and brackets. As soon as I receive it, I will be doing the final test-fitting myself as well as taking and posting pictures of the product.


I'm very confident in the work and the capabilities of the fabricator so I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that there won't be any issues. If there are, they will have to be addressed prior to releasing any final version of the kit. We want anyone who purchases these to be ecstatic and appreciative of the quality that was put into re-designing them. Therefore, only the BEST will suffice.


Also, lighting will be addressed very shortly. Either way, like I've mentioned before, we will offer these as a complete kit w/out lights for those willing to source their own lighting. So, as long as fitment is correct, these will possibly be for sale very shortly!

Is there a rough price point for this kit yet?

 

Not just yet. I have been given rough pricing, but b/c the test-fitting is scheduled to take place in the next week or so, if anything has to be changed/corrected/etc. the pricing might change. I don't expect this, but this is why I'm not inclined to give out pricing just yet. I will post up pricing details as soon as the test-fitting is completed and the product is finalized. Until then, if I gave you a price it would just be an estimate and I don't like doing this as pricing changes are not usually taken lightly.


I hope you can understand and will update as soon as possible with all pertinent information.

 

Major Update:


The lights are completed and on their way back to me. I will test-fit the re-designed Rotary Run Racing Lights to ensure fitment, quality, etc. I also have the originals to compare with so if everything goes smoothly, these will be available for production immediately after testing is completed. I will be posting finalized pricing based on the results of the testing. Basically, if all is well, pricing will be posted. If for some reason, anything needs to be further addressed, pricing will have to wait.


We will be offering a few different options for the kit, like I've mentioned throughout this thread. An option for a Carbon Fiber Bucket will also be available if the customer so wishes. I won't go in to much further detail right now as all of the pertinent information will be consolidated within the official GB thread. I will post a link here to it when we are ready to move forward.

I did receive the lights! I will be going to the bodyshop with a friend to test-fit on his FD possibly within a few days. I will hopefully have additional pictures at that point. I'll keep everyone posted.

If you have the lights, snap some #@%$ picks. The whole proprietary thing just smacks of crazyness. Unless, of course, you think it'll take you six more months to produce anything by which time somebody else could replicate the headlights. If that's not the case, then in six months time the buckets will be in people's hands all over the country and people will do what they may or can. "Proprietary" and "replica" are a funny juxtaposition.

Sorry had to vent there. I hope to see pics, timeline, costs all that good stuff.

Scheduling has been the issue at the moment. My friend and I are both pretty busy and it's been ridiculously cold here for the past week. Not trying to make excuses for anything, just explaining the circumstances.
