i got wind of a few jdm engine importing companies in the LA/gardena area that im probably gonna look into when the time comes.

heres a terrible quality pic of where the poo chariot resides. our fab guy just moved shops so work should start this week on it.

I'm selling the 50mm over fenders posted earlier in this thread and the HKS manifold. if anyone is interested in buying either shoot me a PM. trying to get some money to use towards some other stuff for the build

this is how it looks now coated in high temp manifold paint

how much for the 50mm fenders? shipped to 84106

also I would try and get away from the cast manifold. they get heat soaked super fast.

just a quick question about the PBM subrame risers. I just installed mine, along with the diff risers. What I noticed is that the subframe risers slide in really really easy (didnt have to chill them or anything, they just slid right in) and also that no part of them fits the subframe stud snugly... the diff risers did have to be hammered into the diff and do fit the diff studs snugly.

went for a test drive and I have a clunk on accel and decel. is this to be expected or is something fucked?

to clarify, I installed the larger part of each riser (concave/"cup") into the subframe and sat the smaller part on top. I would assume the smaller part (convex/"ball") should fit snug on the subframe stud, but it does not.

i kind of want to get a little turbo discussion going on about what would be good to run because I'm having a hard time deciding what to shoot for. I'm sure theres some guys on here with more turbo experience than me so feel free to chime in. I'm looking for something thats
A)gonna spool sometime in this century and be useable for drifting
B) not be maxed out to reach 320-350hp but not be so big that it outflows a 44mm waste gate
C)not put me below the poverty line

I've been kinda tossing around some ideas and I've narrowed it down to these:

gt3582r
t4, ball bearing, undivided, 3" outlet, .82 A/R
expensive as F

T04s
t4, journal bearing, undivided, 3"outlet, .70 A/R comp and .81 or .96 A/R turbine
not quite as expensive as F

drift motion 60-1
t4, journal bearing, undivided, 3" outlet, .81 A/R
kinda affordable as F

Do the t04 with the big hotside. All those turbos will spool well.
Smaller turbos have bigger problems with creep. That manifold is a creeper.

If you ran the BW IWG you could stage your internal wastegate in case the external creeps.
That would solidify your pimp status.

If you are staying rotary, you want this! Here is my EFR 7670 dyno chart.

What? Rotary torque? It has more torque than most 400hp LS V8s from 3,000rpm to redline and boost happens fast.

The big hotside will keep egts/backpressure manageable for longer engine life.

Basically, I used an old $300 HKS FD T04Z tubular manifold with this $1,300 turbo and it fits the FC well. OK, I spent a fortune on the wastegates.

You *could* probably use the FD HKS divided cast manifold and use the internal wastegate EFR 7670 for internal and external WGs to avoid boost creep and save cost.

Here is the turbo swap thread on it. I have some vid in there showing response.

Another bonus is with the turbo's internal BOV recirculating into the anti-surge slot you can back off the gas and maintain any boost you want. No boost drop with backpedal.

You don't have to just *ride it out* floored with this turbo- seems like it would be good for drifting to me.

https://www.rx7club.com/single-turbo...sults-1070794/

I switched to this from a 60-1 that really good response by "normal turbo" standards.

I just got the BW S300X 68/60 with the .88 turbine. I have seen Howard recommend this turbo on numerous occasions (with the compressor maps and math to prove his theory) for people looking for 350-400whp with decent spool and room to grow by swapping the turbine if desired. Part number 177280 (with 90* comp out) or 177272

Silverfc (I think that was his name) posted a dyno making ~450whp at 18psi (iirc) with very good spool/response (I know street is different)

I have friends with the S366X and it's a beast of a turbo and slightly larger than the one I got. Mine should spool a little faster. But both turbos are great cheaper options if you already have the mani and waste gate(s)

Here is a pic on my turbo and mani for my s5 t2 motor
