WHY? you wanna get the whole lot of us banned? It's not worth it. The amount of information to be found here far outweighs the stupidity and bullshit you have to put up with on a daily basis. I'd be all for doing it but it's not like they can't BAN us or delete our SIGS.

Maybe someone will get all pissed and hack the site like another rotary site I know of, and all the info will be lost.... Then there would be no reason to visit it....

All in all this site is run by a big coorperation now.. Big Corps are evil money machines.. IB doesn't care about anything other then making this forum super profitable. The mods are just doing what they are supposed to do... But people bitching isn't going to do anything.. 100 pissed off members = nothing to them... There are so many other members that visit/click through that those of us that don't like where the forum is going (or those that choose to leave) isn't going to affect them at all.

well all i can say is im pretty sure this forum wont be going anywhere anytime soon. its just got such a amazing wealth of information and reliable servers to handle the traffic that its going to be immensely difficult to mirror without a company like IB to support unless members are willing to donate and someway to get at least a resemblance of the information here. the majority will stay bc the majority are not the sellers who are being locked from selling. we might lose valuable members like RR but info they've already posted will be here to stay and regular members shall continue to profit.

I work for a HUGE worldwide company part of my job is maintaing the HVAC that feeds the server rooms, if i were to loose power for 15 minutes.. the servers would fry...

well, based on previous issues. A local guy was asked to remove his AOL address because it was a business. Another local guy had the same sig (to help out the other member) and HE was asked to remove it.
I know what can happen to me if I "step out of line" and it's not fun. The "LINE" differs from mod to mod so it's all about the capriciousness and immaturity of the person but, much like the VENDOR RULE, it's very vague . That's why there is no consistency anywhere but, at the same time, that keeps EVERYONE "in line" since nobody knows what can and/or can't be done.
As I said earlier, the info and response-time of this forum is worth the bullshit.
So, While it's a good sign of solidarity for Kevin we're just IPs that can be blocked and whose sigs can be deleted.

THe info posted here is FREE revenue for the IB staff. Do WE get paid for the writeups that draw people to the site??? NO. DO I ASK FOR $ for my contributions?? NO..

Wait, what if I can prove that I only break even on the products I list? Does that mean I have to pay advertising fee's even though I'm essentially operating as a non-profit? For instance, if someone was a shop that normally didn't list here, but wanted to empty inventory at cost + shipping, they would have to sign their soul over to essentially give away product because they list 2 or more?
It would be difficult for anyone (especially someone in buysiness) to try and liquidate any sizeable amount of inventory without being noticed. Remember we are humans not machines we can read and understand context clues.
Your not going to be able to work in some loophole, because there isn't one. We review each issue on a case by case basis (much thanks to rx7doctor for that legwork) and when needed confer on what action to take, although some have much clearer paths than others.
