So Kevin got banned for a week huh?
Wow 10 pages in less than 8 hours. So sad to see this forum go in this direction. And hopefully IB will stay away from other forums I'm on. Also if anyone noticed their slogan on IB website.

Moderators pull up a search query of the threads the user has posted in the recent past and really use that as a clear indicator of who is a "seller" and who is just selling.
Example, people who just happen to be selling different turbo setup every month, or better than that.. they manage to sel the exact same turbo setup 3 or 4 times a year. Mind you this doesn't include anyone who might have PM'ed the seller directly.
Sure it's possible that the guy is swapping turbos on a monthly basis and getting new ones, but it's highly unlikely. As ridiculous as it seems, some of the people who have had threads removed are that blatant about it.
The way I read his posts though definitely made me think he was only parting out one car, and that if he had parted out a car in the past it definitely wasn't happening frequently enough to make it into a job,or an extra form of income, which is what I would assume the vendor cost is meant for.
Oh I hardly do this, it's just a side thing... but they have 4 or 5 new threads a week being posted.
so let's say if i decide to clear out my garage (keep in mind i no long have an fc) would i have to start 1 enormous post with all the parts and not be able to list individual threads? i mean within reason for example individual threads for aftermarket parts and another thread for stock parts.

Meh...I don't think you have to worry.
In reality this is all about politics. Kevin speaks his mind and is brash. His ban was to make an example for the rest of us...cause like said...other non-vendor members do the same thing... *cough* *cough* "3rd gen forum" and nothing is done o has been done.
It doesn't matter what the members want...its what the Knights of the round table want. Politics and money...thats what it is about.
Its the contribution of the members what makes this site profit...yet the members have to pony up.

No your over analyzing it. It would be easy to determine if you have been trying to get rid of parts for days/weeks months from a single car part out.
I would be an entirely different thing if you happen to have new cars to part every couple of months or maybe happen to post in one of your threads that you got a "shipment of new ones" to sell.
For example it would be odd for someone to happen to have 3 different exhausts for sale in perfect condition within a three month period right?
On the other hand if your selling a OEM exhaust along with a HKS exhaust it would be something different.

i am only here to entertain myself lol. thank you BAW
that is all.
His ban was not an example. If he was, the moderation staff would have started this thread. We would have put his head up high for everyone to see... that is an example... and he would have been banned for more than a week.
He simply violated the rules that he had been repeatedly warned about.

Only ones paying are DEALERS, VENDORS and people trying to skirt around the advertising that they think they should get free because they have done so much for the community. Of course better Vendors, ones that do deserve our members money; play fair, and pay for the advertising and the right to sell. These shops like Pineapple or Atkins actually help the community as well as pay for their advertising here.

All NSFW stuff will be appropriately tagged. Or, just don't click on anything BATMAN links, you should be fine.
Looks like you jumped criticisms here, at first you were referring to multiple threads, but in your response you zero in on the singular topic of classified ads.
Regarding classified ads it's a well worn subject that several members of the staff have been working with and urging the powers at IB to come on-board with refocused standards and a keener eye on the role of the "shade-tree mechanic/weekend shop owner". Fact is we can only work with what we have and that's what we are doing.
The rules we are currently adhering to are posted in the announcements of each and every Classified section on the forum. The announcement looks like this:
**** MUST READ this before you buy or sell on this forum ****
I don't know how much clearer it could get than clicking on the links and reading the rules. Please let me, let you lead the way on this one. How else should be modify what has been done to make it better... waiting to hear from you.
I think you misinterpret my seriousness about the issue, as you say "sucks we can't have serious conversation on the matter", I concur with you... in fact better than that I totally agree with you.
We won't be able to have serious conversation about issues with contributors who fail to use a mature level of communication in their posts. I'm not singling out anyone on this matter but it's easy to see who is serious around here and who isn't.

- No Dealers in the classified sections. A dealer is defined as anyone who is selling more than 2 of the same product, or who repeatedly has items for sale.
How many items do I have to sell at what frequency to be determined as "repeatedly has items for sale".
Heres my constructive criticism: Define that number and put it in that sentence.
