So Kevin got banned for a week huh?

http://www.rotarycarclub.com/showthread.php?t=86

One of the top engine builders, used part guys, and source of free information for everyone in this community- banned for not ponying up ad dollars.

This place has really just gone right down the drain. What a joke.

this board was totally wrong for internet brands

the only one who lucked on this deal was Ryan

I dont know what internet brands thought they were buying, I guess they looked at member numbers and traffic but could not figure out the rest of the board.

I cant wait to see more Allstate and other mindless ads at the top of the screen.

I STILL DONT GET WHATS IN IT FOR THE MODERATORS?? WHAT DO THEY GAIN FROM INFORCING THE RULES????

You all still have a home at the other board should you wish to venture over there.

I'm surprised they haven't removed the link. I guess Internet Brands does not allow linking to competetive sites even include rotary car club and no pistons. What really sucks are the little guys (small businesses) won't be able to post about parts as the advertising fees here are through the roof now.

Valid Point, but what concerns me even more is that they are removing regular individual ppl's FS posts too. Just cause a guy switched setups and has a lot of stuff for sale does not make him/her a vendor! And how about all the posts supporting Kevin, those wre removed too. This place stinks of Stalinist Russia.

Yeah I only stay for BAW anymore. If we could move BAW over to Nopistons, or hell even TFL this forum would never see my monitor again.

I memorized enough of the tech stuff that I need to know, and I get the rest elsewhere. It's really unfortunate as this site has some really good information on it, but I don't like to click more than I have to.

IB gets a big

I've only read a small portion of what happened with Kevin, but I think it's a sad day for all of the rotards. He's done a lot for the community and the "common man".

Hopefully there can be a better resolution to this matter.

At least his page is back up here: http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/rebuildwriteup3.htm

I've been on other forums with overzealous moderators and admins, in particular vwvortex, among others. I have to say that aside from banning the spammer or the instigator of arguments it always detracts from the community. It is quite possible that IB doesn't give two ***** for the community as a whole but I don't see how they could adopt that attitude. All that will happen is people will leave the forum and it will become a shell of what it once was. I have to say that even on vwvortex, a forum which is heavily heavily corporate, I'd say much more so than this site, I've never heard of the kind of crackdown on average sellers that exists on this site.

I will say that Kevin does do quite a bit of business on this site, and I don't know if he does count as an 'average' seller. At the same time though he was a very helpful member and definitely contributed to the forum in other ways.

Wow, my nopistons account still works as well! TFL is websensed, so if not here, the only other place i'd be, car-wise, is no-pistons.

I don't feel the ban on Kev was right at all. Especially bc of the service he does for fellow rotary people. Not too many people charge the amount he does, for the quality he puts out.

wow! disapointing.... They tried to do **** like this on a local reefkeeping board Ive been active on since it started 5 years ago. I would consider myself the reefkeeping equivalent of someone like Kevin and basically told them they charge me to sell my 15$ corals I grew to support my habits then I would take my knowledge elsewhere. Kevin isnt the first expert to be driven from this community....

Going back to Internet brands, I am tweaked at the whole intelli-text adds.

Question, I am thinking about putting together an RX7 forum, minus the adds,( I would only have google sense ads), and no fee's for vendors to list rotary parts. Would anyone be interested?

It would be great if someone could transfer most of the important info (archives, faq's) over to the Rotary Car Club or No Pistons. I just wish that when Ryan decided to sell that he would have asked for the community to help with funds to support the forum. I know I would have kicked in as well as many others to keep the forum away from IB.

Is it really that much? Is that the cheapest seller account? How much do they think sellers make on here, I mean Kevin only charges 1k for the rebuild, I doubt he does more than 3 or 4 per month?
