So Kevin got banned for a week huh?

Persona non grata
Kevin received YEARS of lee-way, and still had a chip on his shoulder. He received way more leniency than anyone else in his situation ever would have.
Bro, i agree 120% with you. I just was pointing out how ironic the situation was. I miss the magizine as well, but I feel that this web site is being used more as a cash cow than it is to help the rotary community. That is my point.

I'm not complaining man. I miss the Mag and still read the few I received.
I knew that the prudent thing was to let go when I heard about the first heart attack and then your crap got stolen. On top of the flakes that didn't/wouldn't pay. That's why i get mad when people bring **** up like that and hold it over your head like that. There is no sense of camaraderie these days and there is no sympathy or empathy from anyone anymore.
that isn't even the issue right now.

It's somewhat of a misdirection to people reading this to call it lee-way. No one was ever motivated to deal with the issue until management changed hands.

From what Kevin posted regarding not sitting down and hashing out a viable vendor program it was more of a "We don't feel like talking about the 600lb elephant sitting in the corner" then lee-way.

Kevin declined the last advertising package I offered him, probably close to two years ago. It was a really good deal at the time, and his attitude DID make me not want to deal with him. So he got used to being ignored by the Mod staff, and began to expect it. But he still acted like a complete child when given instruction from the Mods. Never has he said anything like 'thanks for allowing me to operate my business freely on this site for years'. Instead we get him creating multiple user accounts to try and skirt the rules, and the Mods get nothing but attitude from him.
Kevin is an example of our inconsistency if you want to use it that way - but he WAS the benefactor of that inconsistency.
Like I posted earlier, a similar thing happened with Robert at rotaryshack years ago. But he handled it like a mature adult and since then everything has been peachy creamy.

You're passing judgement on a situation you know nothing personally about. That's exactly what pisses myself and Icemark off so much, you're pulling **** out of your *** just because you have a keyboard and some spare time.

You probably have my phone number somewhere. If you feel that way give me a damn call instead of hypothesizing here about my personal motives.

As far as the banning situation, your right I probably dont know all of the stipulations of the argument. I just feel that it would be dumb to ban someone. Just posting what I feel, sorry if i hurt your feelings. I think i might have your business card from the magazine days, and I have tried calling that number before. You didnt respond then, and I wouldnt expect you to respond now.

The change of management has nothing to do with it. IB is not telling us to do anything at this point, essentially nothing has changed as far as management is concerned.

Realistically looking at the situation now Kevin doesn't stand to benefit from buying advertising here. If someone didn't know who he was before they definitely know now that he was banned (and now un-banned).
Check out the 2nd gen posts of folks who come on the board asking for recommendations of where they can get a cheap budget rebuild and well... I got 475 threads with the term rotary resurrection in it, a small sampling shows word of mouth and not Kevin do all the advertising necessary. It probably would have been more but this forum has a spelling problem...

I'm really not trying to be ignorant. I'm just thinking about both your position and Kevins position and how you benefit from doing business with each other.

Personally I think its somewhat silly and moot at this point. I've had more FS threads then Kevin has had in the last year (unless alot of them got deleted). Since he's removed his business link from his sig he stands to gain nothing if he posts FS ads infrequently.

RR is the guy to go to for budget rebuilds. The guy even helps you figure out how to save on crating the motor to and from him.
