Question question for admins to answer for me

Ok, I am just wondering what other forums/clubs "would be considered to be a direct competitor to RX7Club.com"?

or, since you probably don't want to list them, can you please define "direct competitor to RX7Club.com" for me please?

why not private? so everyone can see/know what are considered "competition"
why not stickied? so it doesn't get over looked at easily by the admin...

You could have PM'ed me.

A direct competitor is a direct competitor. Think about it. Wal-Mart is in competition with Target. Best Buy is in competition with Circuit City.

So, who is in competition with the forum? Any web site that is....not this one.

The exception will be (as soon posted) regional club boards. Those are not perceived as anything but regional.

But as soon as it is national or international, that changes things.

And yes you could have PM'd any active moderator or admin for this info.

RX8Club is owned by the same people as the RX7club, therefore not a direct competitor, but rather a sister board.

It's not much clearer than that. Use your common sense, you KNOW that rx8club.com is a sister website.

Does the admin seriously have to say which exact websites are not affiliated with this website?

the admin/mods can't say its about $$? If a site bring $$ back to the owners, then hey, sure encourage people to go there...but if we dont get $$ from it, no, you can't list it? unless its just for a small area of the world, then we'll say its ok.

if its about knowledge, then why does it matter where a person goes, i would think that if we are here for the bettering of the rotary community, then we would encourage people to find other sites that may or may not have information that this site does not have. "i dont know the answer, but go ask bob, he might know..."

would i be able to have a link to theforumlounge in my signature? as far as i know, there aren't vendors there, but it is a national forum, so it would be competition? and i'm assuming that corvetteforum and germanautoforums are also competition? regardless of the fact i doubt any of the corvette or porsche specific vendors have any reason to list here...so your not loosing $$ you wouldn't be getting in the first place...

and if rx8club is a sister site...if i was a vendor, if i pay to list on rx7club then i am also paying to list on rx8club as well? or is that more $$?

All of what you asked is going to be updated very shortly. We discussed it all yesterday. Look for a thread either in this section, or keep yourself updated with the FAQ and Forum Rules/Guidelines.

That's why we have the last rule. For guys like you that feel that you have to question everything.

It forces us to come up with a rule section that will be as long as a building code book.

The signature rule as well as other rules of this club are being revised because of all of this.

Questioning everything weeds out the weak arguments and reinforces the strong ones. That said, It's never been against the rules to like to a "competing" forum in a thread.

Whatever it takes. Not that I really care, I'm just in it for the betterment of all. If we don't question what we see, then what good is our intellect?

well, i guess i'll have to wait until the new "rule book"/"terms of usage"/what ever you decide to call it, comes out before i have the clear and concise answer to my question of what is "direct competition to rx7club?". i mean, so far all i have been told here is: "you know what it is, so we shouldn't have to define it for you"

if i really knew what it was, then i wouldn't be asking. if it is so well defined, then this thread should have only been 2 maybe 3 posts long. but the mods and admin who have said anything in here have not given me a clear enough definition to where i would have said "thank you" and gone on with my life. Nor have they answered my questions so i can have a better understanding of things.

I have simply been made to feel like an idiot becausing I'm wanting to know more.

is teamfc3s.org a competitor? If so, they should be removed:
https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...06&postcount=4
https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...55&postcount=5
https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...80&postcount=6

and so on.

Is it possible to get a list? I know you clearly say national or international sites but why is teamfc3s.org still in the FAQs?

I personally consider any site that is RX7 related a competitor site but you would all know better tahn me.

It was very clear. I was thinking it was so clear that only a idiot... well I won't say it... instead I will put it as clear as it can be for you:

No linking to another forum in signatures.

The exceptions to that are forums co-owed with this one, or for vendors that are current and paid up that are advertising their forum, or regional forums such as local car clubs and the like.

Is that not clear enough?

yep, they probably should be removed.

I'll make sure I use your name as who pointed out for them to be removed when I remove them so that the people that removing them that will be hurt by not having the info there can go ask you instead.

So, it is my understanding that this forum is now run as a business would be and regardless of what useful information is available on other sites that would better aid the community, it is all contraband?

I think we're getting to the root of the issue now. Kindly confirm or deny.

Thanks

I didn't make the rules. I merely point out things when they don't match up. It sucks but if you're gonna do something do it right or let it be. You can use my real name, forum name, previous forum name, in the end we've already lost more than we can replace.

Being that none of those are in a signature then it is acceptable.

That means not abusing the system and post whoring every chance you get to list the particular site. But if someone asks, "Where"s" a good place to buy a certain item then it is acceptable to respond to this in the thread.

Using a name of a beneficial site when not used in a signature is acceptable.
However, a beneficial site is not one that is bashing the site where it is listed.

A signature is a form of advertising.

Therefore any site that offers the selling of anything is a competitor site and is not allowed in a signature unless that site is paying fees to IB.

There are many references that are listed in threads such as mazdatrix, racing beat, rock auto,etc..............

They are not putting those references here and other members are not putting them in their signatures.

No, I won't do either. Because no matter what I say, you or others will take it and twist it.

The issue being addressed was with signatures and the like. Not text, or helpful posts.

However as you have proved, my sarcastic remark to Phoneix7 was not understood, by yourself or others. I am sorry I will attempt to make it as simple as possible when posting my replies in the future.
