this is an RX-7 forum...rotary powered and piston powered...this is not strickly a rotary rx7 forum. under the sub-forum for swaps, it reminds people of that. if this site is here to help the growth of the rx7 community, then why is listing the v8rx7forum in my signature such a problem? if people can't find the information here on this site and notice my signature, they can check it out there. but as it is, they have to find a post where someone mentions the other forum.
The RX-7 was built AROUND the motor. The motor was not built to go into this car. The RX-7 chassis was lightened and reinforced to FULLY take advantage of the rotary platform. Therefore an RX-7 Forum IS about the ROTARY not the chassis.
You're starting a battle you can't win.
You took out what makes a sports car, with a good chassis, THE RX-7. Seems wasteful.

I rarely disagree with you phoenix, but this time I do. I think lt is right. Many of the members here need the v8 info here just for comparisons sake. Your arguement could be replaced with 20b, and thus it wouldn't hold up.
ie: If you want to put a 20b in your car, do you have to go to a forum dedicated solely to that? Or a forum of fellow members of your car who also consider doing this/similar projects.
All links to other information/products should be put out for free!

The only problem I have with your failed logic is this: Just because you don't like it doesn't make it failed.
The RX-7 was built AROUND the motor. The motor was not built to go into this car. Like someone else pointed out, neither was a 20B, but because it's rotary, that's ok? But it wasn't built for that car! The RX-7 chassis was lightened and reinforced to FULLY take advantage of the rotary platform. You mean a lightweight engine that can still put out a lot of power? That resembles an LS1... Therefore an RX-7 Forum IS about the ROTARY not the chassis. So all these threads about body styling, interior styling, suspension setup, where to find parts, etc. etc. are all just my imagination? This is an RX-7 board, and there's more to an RX-7 than just the engine, plain and simple. So if you dislike it so much that you can't be on the same board, try one of the rotary only boards like nopistons.com instead.
You're starting a battle you can't win.

Speaking of battles you can't win, I've already argued this one before and won, if you'd care to take a go at it we can start a new thread somewhere and go from there.

James, you know me, and I think you know that I'm not a redneck nor am I a rotary basher. A lot of the threads where conflict arises is simply because of rotary diehards coming in and starting the trouble themselves.

MY sense of entitlement? This isn't a rotary board. This isn't a board where all people talk about is the rotary engine and how cool it is. Quit using that as a crutch to try and get rid of something you don't like. People are putting other engines in these cars for various reasons, get the **** over it already.

Rules are rules, and the mods are here to ensure that they're being followed.
Even if v8rx7forum is an info only site, it's still another forum, and regardless of how much good it'll do to have links, this forum is under private ownership, and what they say goes. Doesn't matter the benefit of link other info only sites, they set the rules and rules state "No linking to another forum, except for the aforementioned exceptions."

i did have a well running rotary before i swapped my car to an LT1. car ran great, i had a blast with it. developed a leaky injectored and decided to swap it to see if me and my brother could do it. (we swapped it a few years back) the money i was going to buy a GT35R kit from rx7store went to buy my engine/trans and swap kit. i had an AEM sitting at the house for the rx7 that i ended up selling...
and i'm assuming your refering to a DGRR link? i would see that as an event, much like my Blue Ridge Rotary Run link...if you remove those, then i would take it as not supporting "advertisement" for large gatherings, despite the sub forums for them...

if you can not show me where that rule is posted, then i was not in violation and my signature should not have been altered...and thus this thread would not have been created.

other than where a mod/admin created that rule in this thread, please show me where that rule existed before i asked the question that started this.

As soon as you posted after that rule was mentioned, it consitutes the acceptance of the new rules. Doesn't matter when you signed up. If you don't like it, GTFO.
You think it's a timing issue. The mods say that the time of signup is irrelevant. What matters is that you're using the forum in it's current environment and implicitly agree to the new rules.
Kinda sad, isn't it? They can change the rules whenever they want, and we have to agree to it, or leave.
