I appreciate ya DKJ, I don't know why the other admins bother defending IB. If I were them I'd respond to all complaints with IB's email address and ryan scotts email address, you're at least trying to answer questions.

Can we buy IB out and hold shares, like stock holders?

I honestly don't think we defend IB all that much. Keep in mind we can't just "throw our owners under the bus" if you know what I mean. So we have to maintain a professional amount of criticism regarding how that light is cast.

Sadly many of the complaints or attacks that you guys throw out aren't IB's responsibility, they are ours (the staff).

We are supposed to be the first line of communication. As some of you know I've addressed the issues I know how to resolve at a technical level with the fixes I am aware of. Issues like the daily forum crawl as I now call it are beyond my control, heck I'm affected by them too.

As far as copying Ryan Scott on any correspondence to IB you'd be wasting your time as he no longer maintains a position of influence to do anything about it.

Please note, that doesn't underscore his concern as I know he cares deeply as to the maintenance and future of the forum, but the fact is at this time he doesn't possess the power to fix it. Likewise sending messages to IB's email is probably equally as fruitless, but for altogether different reasons.

Keep your posts and problems here so we have an organized and conscise way of tracking them. Sending them off to some email black hole will help noone.

Technically yes.... their stock is traded on NASDAQ and is currently at a rate of 7.07 dollars a share. However with 43.78 million shares it would take more money than
would be fiscally responsible to do such an act.

You would have to make one heck of an offer... I'd imagine you would have to raise in excess of a million bucks to get them to consider the offer.

** My opinion in no way should be considered a legitimate assessment of the rx7club.com worth or value.

That could be misconstrued as a threat.

Please tread lightly when making sarcastic threats towards a big company with lawyers and whatnot like that.. I can't save your *** from them. :P

Honestly, I am very surprised they have not brought their own Mods and Admins on board for the everyday tasks of running the forums. But, Moderation is more than just moving threads, deleting, approving of threads, etc.

I guess if the admin team gave up and the board became rampant with spam bots, scam artists, etc and page hits went down, vendors stopped paying, they'd respond to that I'd assume.

The buisness model is perfect.

Buy out forum.
Maintain servers, hosting (albeit poorly), VBB Licenses(or just buy out the company that owns vbb )
Vendors pay out monthly
Forum self moderates with volunteer administrators.
Disregard all issues that don't directly affect collecting profit every month.

I don't believe they see this forum as a revenue source.

Our biggest threads in this section are about how to get rid of all the ads. Why do they want to keep people around that won't pay the bills, but leave the lights on?

Agreed. It'd be a happy day if they'd sell the forum

I've been putting up with slow load times/hang ups for over a month now, but it has all been with IE as my browser. I started using firefox again, and now everything seems to be ok. It doesn't seem to be a bandwidth issue; I suggest trying another browser.

My instinct is to leave MY settings alone. Not really computer literate anyway. I've changed nothing and until recently it wasn't a problem. And currently this is the only site I need a sack lunch to visit (though over the last few days it seems to have improved).
If I get tired of waiting, I just go elsewhere.

I kinda find that offensive, since there are only 4 volunteer admins, and none have have been defending IB. All have been only trying to make the board a better place, no matter who owns it.

And frankly, in the 5 + years I have been a moderator here (and 7.5 years as a member), the only changes I see is that the servers are much more reliable now (it used to be the whole forum went down for whole weekends on a regular basis- but it seems everyone forgets that), and that the pay scale for vendors is now at least some what defined instead of made up as you go.

But as far as contacting someone that can fix the servers or implement global changes or fixes... that hasn't changed one bit. Doesn't seem to matter who owns the board... but I guess it is easy to forget about that and blame whoever currently owns the board. Doesn't seem to matter if it was Ryan, or Jason, or IB.

And back a couple of pages, RR/Kevin was mentioned. He too has not contacted me and tried to work out his behaving on the board. Instead he talks crap on other boards, and creates multiple user names here.

BTW: DKJ I get slow every night at around 11pm PST. It appears to be a server back up issue, more than an Ad issue.

I appreciate anyone trying to make it a better place, more so for having to deal with absent administration when it comes to site issues that you have no control over.

I've seen some posturing with IB's take over from some comments gleaned out of this section. Putting the idea's out there that things are only getting better from here (read: the take over). Also the notion that IB is somehow saving the board from Ryan. Maybe defending was too strong of a word.

Yep I just very recently got the power to IP ban someone. This means daily I am IP banning about 10 spammers. RX7Doc has been helping a lot with identifying these scum. But it has taken a while to get that ability and functions.

See, as far as the owner goes, most of us don't know the deals that were made, or the requirements on either end. And frankly I don't want too know. I don't think IB saved the board from anyone, and really myself do not see much of a change at all (other than what I mentioned above). IB tends to let the board run itself, but keeps the servers working, Ryan always was having trouble with the servers because he was trying to do it all himself. But kinda just let the boards run themselves too. To me, they are just another owner that I don't have much contact with... just like all the other owners. Kinda like that The Who song. Here is the new boss... same as the old boss...
