Dgrrx 2010
first year was bad - my front lip scraped on everything and got pretty much destroyed.
Last year it was fine, either because I was luckier, more careful, or the fixed the spots, I don't rememember!
I have no idea how you 2WD guys made it up there though. I tried going up in 2WD once and did a burnout around every corner when the car picked up the inside rear tire.
Where's cabin 180? Got pictures or a link?
I sure liked 220 and will make sure I visit you QC guys up there at least once, if only to read the guestbook.

The first pic looks like the porch from #220, but the rest of the pics are different. I think this place is half way up the mountain, on that first right hand switchback.......I think.

For the 220 guys, you can open the basement door with a credit card to get access to the garden hose to give your cars a wash
. Just remember to put it all back after hehe.
The first year my lip got scratched coming down too. It wasn't broken but was damaged enough for me to buy a new one.

Quick question for you guys that have been to the gap before. Will it be necessary to retune my car when we get there. I just got thinking about this the other day. I would imagine there will be a fairly large elevation change compared to Ontario, but is it enough to require any major tuning changes?

I doubt you'll have a problem. It's not /that/ high. I think no higher than 3500-4000'
My cosmo was slow as a dog going through the 9000' passes in yellowstone, but even then, it still ran well enough. I would think if you have a reasonably well tuned setup now it will still be in the right ballpark down there.

Joe, I just looked at the pics of the new cabin. At first I was doubting the non-220ness of it but now that I've seen the pictures I think I may like it even better! Man I can't wait to get down there.
Go into the DGRR forum, there is a thread started for the sigs. Thanks for the advice. I didn't know if I would have to take some different jets for my carb or anything. Probably a little fine adjustment on the Weber and I'll be fine.
Weird when I asked them how steep it was they didn't mention it as that much of an issue. My car is very low so I guess i will have to see when the time comes if we go by trailer I am not too worried but elsewise might have to park it and walk haha. They told me it is a paved road you are saying it is a gravel road?
Our place is the house of rotary love hehe. I really hope to get to see all the rotary friends I made going down last year to the Carlisi memorial.

It's a "paved" road yes. Meaning there is pavement, that for the most part appears to have been raked by hand out of a wheelbarrow.
But yeah you'll work it out. If I bring the FB down I can take you up to the cabin rally cross style
I'm in the same boat. Just got my car back from paint last week. Still have to build the engine, get it running, broke in, and tuned, and basically put the whole car back together. I've got my work cut out for me.

Damn... I hope it's not the last DGRR. Naomi's in Joe's shop, just about to start a complete teardown. There's not a way in hell she'd be ready for this.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that they'll fill the village and do it again next year. It sounds like a blast!

That sounds doable.... I can always loan you the Rtek and your old turbo back....then it won't be quite so super slow. I think Scott is planning on comming along with us as well, but he's just gonna ride along with me. Doesn't trust the original engine in the SA to make the trip.

I'm sure we have room in ours, even if it ends up being couch space?
My car is pretty much good to go. I need to fix an exhaust leak and touch up some spots on the paint.
The cosmo is super unfun in corners though, so I'm hoping to bum lots of rides in cars that turn well this year...
