s4 na to jdm s5 tII
They are made by U.S. wheel, they are trailer wheels and I got them from summit racing. They wobble really bad and are very heavy. I have a set of fd wheels on the way, these are gonna go on a trailer where they belong lol
as soon as i can find a trailer, the fc is going to rotor sport racing for a tune! other than that i got a s5 turbo keg and transmission to play with.

Okay, I have this s5 turbo keg. I really want to put it in a vert, so basically if I get a s4 vert I'm going to have to run s4 turbo electronics. You can't mix the electronics between series unless you wanna try cutting and splicing.
So i got my hands dirty today, i almost didn't want to take the keg apart because it had good compression. Glad i did!! this is a 20k mile rebuild that was premix'd.
first thing i find is coolant in the oil and what appears to be a woodruff key in the oil pan, along with a ton of sealant on the oil pick up.

i thought it was weird finding a lock washer and some kind of thread lock on the oil pump, so i took a pic.

now comes the bad part. my guess is that the torrington bearing got pinched by the spacer upon assembly. what do you think?

had trouble the rest of the tear down due to bearings being chewed up and the e shaft is probably junk.

so it appears that the rotors, housings and irons are reusable but i wont know for sure till i start cleaning and measuring everything.

... and it gets better. wow!
well, hopefully the engine itself is in decent shape. what's the e-shaft like? as it stands right now, you're in for a full front stack in addition to the expected rebuild parts.

The e shaft has some pretty deep cuts in it, so I'm not gonna use it.
I bought the engine to build it slowly and I wanna do some port work so I'm not disappointed at all.

Woo just read the whole thread tonight haha XD very nice build man i bought a 87 n/a just finally got it running been debating on turbo swap or lsx, u sir.. just made me a rotor man lol subb'd to the thread
maybe there was zero end play and it wore the **** out of the torington bearings. you might just want to go with rx8 stationary gears. there already hardened, they already have 3 window bearings, and are actually cheaper. and what kind of porting r u thinking of doing?

the end spacer pinched the thrust bearing and then it was driven for 20 thousand miles
. i like the rx8 stationary gear idea, i may even go with a e shaft too. im probably gonna go with a small street port but i dont really have any set plans. im just bored so im getting things clean and trying to find any problems. i really want to send my housings to rotary evolution or goopy to get resurfaced, so hopefully they are in good enough condition.
cant get pics to work for some reason so here is a link so you can see the fd wheels and engine parts that ive cleaned so far.

goopy does a good job resurfaceing rotor housings. its 150 bucks to get your houseings resurfaced if you buy a set of there apex seals. wich I would suggest geting because there awsom! they even media blast the exterear so they look like new and are ready for paint or what ever. as for porting I would say dont waste your money on a template. there are some easy ways to find the lines you can port up to on the iron.
If you mean a standalone like haltech, microtech, mega squirt, etc. then you don't have to switch any electronics.
If you mean something like a rtek chip, then you can't mix match things between series.
