I thought my rust spots were bad.......damn...motivation...hmmmm..how bout get a piece a sheet metal cut out the bad spot and weld it back in after clearing off all the potential rust ...I am at the same spot right now, but I am in the middle of making a car rotisserie so I just have the flat square pieces I cut out right now (well they are flat because I pounded them flat with a soft hammer)....

after thinking about it for a few days i think getting a new roller is my best bet! i picked the sound deadning out with my hand, it just peeled away i was about to start looking for a turbo rearend but now im looking for a t2 roller. i am still going to put it back together but im not spending anymore time or money on this chassis.

well a drift missle isnt a bad idea! but if that was my car I would cut all the rust out and weld in new steel! coz a side from that rust your car has an awsom body! even if you just wanted to get rid of the rust and keep it as an all out drift car the repair wouldnt have to be prity. how bad are the fram rails?

thats what I would do too...seriously...if you are a DIY type of guy, like myself...you will save more money by cutting it out and welding a new sheet of metal on...

Sheet metal is not that expensive IMO and will cost a lot less if you just replace the floor than buying a new shell...let a lone a TII shell....BUT...I too think that RUST is something that makes me doubt my car when I discovered it...

How much are you thinking your will want to spend on a shell?

i would love to do it myself but i dont have the tools and i really dont know how. i only spent 500usd on this roller, i wasnt expecting much.

i think it would be pretty cool to have another shell to take my time with and make it right. who knows though, e6k is on my mind right now!

just keep going with this shell as you were! then when you get the money buy a good welder or baro a friends and then adress the rust problem. it will give you a chance to get some fabrication skills under ur belt. but for now you have e6k on your mined! get it installed and tune your moter right so you can put some seriuse power down!

Really digging the motor paint lol. That sucks about the rust but I've seen stuff like that repaired before so I wouldn't give up on the body yet lol.

sorry, i dont mean to thread jack...but I do have a quick question:

you have this...right?

Wheel Diameter 15 in.
Wheel Width (in) 8 in.
Backspacing (in) 4.750 in.
Offset +6.00mm
Wheel Bolt Pattern 5 x 4 1/2 in.
8mm spacers

would their other rims with the -19mm offset work on the rx7 as well with no spacers? Or will the lip be sticking out of the fenders/no brake caliper clearance? I like more of a deep dish look, but also like it to be somewhat flush with the fenders (sticking out a little isn't a problem, gona roll the fenders anyways)

Wheel Diameter 15 in.
Wheel Width (in) 8 in.
Backspacing (in) 3.750 in.
Offset -19.00mm
Wheel Bolt Pattern 5 x 4 1/2 in
NO spacers

ARP studs??? did you do
Front 3.25"
Rear 2.5"

Yeah I'm running the +6 offset with a 10mm spacer all around

I'm not sure about the -19 offset

And yes those are my arp stud sizes

it starts and runs pretty good! time to find a dyno

strange thing though i changed the oil and went with mobil 1 5w-30 and now my oil pressure at idle is 60psi and with some throttle gets to 100psi. before oil change i ran 20w-40 conventional oil and oil pressure stayed in between 30 and 60.
