i already got rid of the HVAC system, and ive checked all the grounds and even added additionals. about the sunroof motor im not sure if mine is bad or if it just wont work because of all the other s5 electronics. it moves really really slow

I only had time to get the front on today. Im not to sure how to adjust the camber/caster or which way the plate was supposed to face. Any advice will be appreciated. Studs came in today too so i got alot of work to do

this pic was taken from the front of the car and it is the driver side.

Brakes are next on the list, probably should have done them first but oh well. i also have a manual steering rack on the way and need to get new tie rod ends.

um I geuss thats right it must adjust camber and caster at the same time. I always thought you could adjust camber and caster independently on coilovers. but basicly if you loosen those 4 allen bolts up and slide the top of the strut tords the engine your adding more negitive camber, and positive caster.

so I have an s4 as well and plan to put the turboII s5 swap in mine....do you need to have the s5 dash wires in order for the s5 swap to work properly? I am fairly new to 13bs n not having pistons ahhah....

getting a standalone will be cheaper and easier IMO. s4 and s5 electronics are completely different and i wish i had of just spent my money on a standalone.

But you dont need the dash harness unless you want the accessories.

stand alone is always the best way to go if you have the money. but if I were to do a swap like you plain on doing I would just find out what all the pins on the s5 ecu are for and were they are sapost to go and then I would wire it up just like a full standalone and make my own wireing harness.

well it wouldnt be that hard I mean you only realy need probably like half of the inputs and out puts on the stock ecu to run the engine.

That sounds interesting...you happen to know where to find these diagrams?

you can find the fsm at rotaryheads.com look under wiring diagrams. it would probably be easyer to disect a stock s5 engine harness to see were all the wires need to go for the maf, map, iat, cts, injecter outputs. then the cas and ignition output wires run through the body harness you would have to trace them and findout wich wires they are on the ecu plugs I dont know if the s4 and s5 cas and ignition wires are the same. once you trace them and knew wich pins on the ecu they are you could just wire them in to your new engine harness you would be makeing. then you could just find out wich pin is for the ecu power supply then you could just wire up a relay to power the ecu and off that same relay you could send the injecters there 12v power supply. theres a lot of awsom cool ways you can wire things up. if you wanted to do it that way I could help you along the way and answer all your questions. I would want to see how it turns out.

there are a lot of ways to make this swap work, when it comes to trouble shooting, mix matched wires can be a nightmare! Another option may be to make the s5 engine think its a s4! you may need s4 throttle body w/tps, cas, injectors, the s5 omp wont work because it is electronic but i perfer premix. also a s4 turbo ecu w/rtek chip.

there is a ton of information on this site about this swap so deffinetly search all your options. on that note i searched powered by max's form for info about there coilovers and found some helpful tips but on rx7club i found install pics and a write up!

rx7club FTW!

put my rears on before work today and adjusted the fronts alittle. went to low in the rear for my taste, gonna raise it about a inch and a half tomorrow.

Your upper mounts are installed wrong, the slot in the plate should be parallel to the front of the car.

You want to be able to adjust camber and caster. You have them the right way

i was very confused by the upper mounts at first until i read that they give alittle positive caster along with negative camber. i also found a write up with pics on this form which help me alot.

this is the link to the thread.

thats probably the easies way to do it. but just imagine the self satisfaction you would feel from making your owne wireing harness all clean and simple looking. and yea about another inch or inch and a half higher and she would look realy good.
