this happened and im feeling alot better now. i just miss my bike this stuff makes you not want to have anything nice.
and i will have a big update here soon

so i was at rallys parking lot about to leave and a car has the blinker on getting ready to turn into the parking lot this driver instead floors the car 10ft away from me SMILES and hits me floored and doesn't let up. i stayed on the bike for 5ft then hit a curb and got smashed under a pt cruiser. i immediately got up and ran or limped fast across to the mcdonalds( thinking this guy was going to come back to get me again ) a buddy i knew helped me out and i was sent to the hospital. i have tons of road rash and a extremely swollen leg and a frractured ankle. i am lucky to be alive .

the driver is in jail. he had no license and was not in his own car. i have been told he is not right in the head. honestly i think he was trying to kill me.

i have not seen my honda but my dad says theres nothing left it was drug under the car into the pt crusier and crushed into the curb.

Edit: the guy walked off and is not in jail.......

i forgot to turn on the fuel pump at first but i flipped it the other way and it came to life. all was good except a fuel leak, we fixed it and fired up again. It smoked like a freight train i painted everything on this car so it was all setting up plus i left a hose on the down pipe lol.

woot im so excited.
needs the tps adjusted and maybe some timing. but it had good oil presure and the temps were good.

problems
note : fresh rebuild.
note: ran decent i thought first time it was started. tps not adj even close to right.

we tested and adj the tps using led light method. started car. it sounded deep and wouldnt rev past 2k it would jump b/w 1500 and 2000 sounding like it was misfiring . we didnt check before we adj the tps if the coils were firring. the timing light showed the trailing plugs werent firring.

we readjusted the tps b/c it was a tad out. started car. sounded the same. it could now rev past 2000 now. timming light still showed that the trailing plugs werent firring. but when my dad pulled the cap off the coil it was shooting sparks to the plug wire suggesting it was firring.

ideas, opinions, anyone?

Thanks
Shane

Engine grounds possibly??? I see in your pics that you are using the stock ground wire on the firewall. If its the problem or not, I'd get rid of that and put a new bigger ground wire on there, the stock ones suck as we all know.

EDIT: BTW, my timing light will NOT light at all on my FC. Even when the car is running fine, the timing light will show no spark no matter how I try it. I heard someone on the forum say a long time ago that standard timing lights won't work with the FC ignition system, but idk, it was that way for me... Maybe it had something to do with after market plug wires.

ahhh that would explain the timing light not working on the trailing. but still im very confused. it is also running leaner than before. i think my tps might work better out of spec?? idk thats almost what im thinking

im thinking i need to adj the varible resistor? i think the previous owner had been screwing with it when the tps was out of adj. now its in adj and its running lean which i think is causing the symptoms. i might try to see if i can faten it up some. and also set the tps by volts.

im just trying to get this thing to run good enough to break it in. i really need the haltech in here but its not. its way modified compared to stock, ****** injectors, turbo ect. hope i can figure something out.

any help will be appreciated

The var. resistor only effects idle afr's, but is worth a try. I think you kind of answered your own question by stating everything thats modified...

little vid. i think the leaness is pretty well straightned out now. timing tps and a vacum leak were causing the problems. i think it should work pretty well for break in now. and btw camera makes me sound weird i know only 17 but dang haha also i didnt know i had that bad of a ky accent lol ohh well.

hopefully the car will be road worthy were by the weekend

I have the same exhst ping bro..............I HATE it. Between my ports and exhst manifold it drives me up a wall until it warms up.

My v-band doesnt even leak anymore and it still is loud as **** when it is cold started. Anybody who wants to hear my car on start up when it is cold immediately shows the "sounds like ****" look on their face lol.

Now when the FC is warm after a drive it purs like a ****.

Car is running great dude, get some miles on her and you will see that vacuum get better and better.

Yeah the ping isnt loud just annoying for a well tuned motor to sound like that cold. I am jealous of LSx guys when they start up and it screams right away. Only way to get that from a rotary is a really ******* loud exsht.

I feel you on the rain....same issue here
