Yes, in regards to SM and SSM;
I always thought it was an interesting dividing line drawn between the xxS13 240sx hatch and the FC3S RX-7.
Our club in the '60s found out its hard to pin down what a "sports car" is when some member moved to exclude a Karmen Ghia owner from the club based on the fact that we are a sports car club and debate broke out.

Eh those cars are still slower than the pointy end of SSM (usually...)
Right before I sold my car, it was probably fast enough to win nats in SM. Granted it was ~200lb under min weight (and obviously not drivetrain legal), but on paper I think the FC can hang in SM.

Adjust my co-driver (Zack Morgan) time with the SM index results and you get 66.74 - 2nd in PAX. We beat the Hyman GTR by 1.4s on raw time.
Yes the car was under weight and had the wrong drivetrain, but no other XP-type mods that offer any real performance benefit. I was also on 285/315 tires with original susp geometry.

going into SM also puts min weight at 2700 instead of 2500 in SSM... which is way more obtainable for me (I'm at around 2750 now with a roll bar and sunroof and 4x315s) I'm also dangerously close depending on fuel load to the >51% rear weight clause...

It weighed in at 2480 at that event.
The eco-vette is halfway built, he just works too much at work, and not enough on the car lol. He's a tech at English Racing (fastest GTR in the world), and they're out at 1/2 mile drag racing events all the time. Dude has almost no free time.
Vette is looking pretty solid tho, we're estimating ~1900# wet, and somewhat rear biased. Stupid low CG too :-) Its a 2.4L hi-comp with an Evo 9 turbo and E85, so should make like 450whp? I dunno.

new suspension arrived and is installed:
the universal motorsport struts are a PITA... You have to press in the bearings and seals yourself (I guess they don't install them because they might melt when you weld the ears on?) Luckily my pineapple racing main bearing driver is damn near the exact right size, so it wasn't too bad.

Besides the obvious new struts and rear dampers, what did you change on these from the ones I bought? Which camber plate/ rear upper mount did you go with?

Did you ever get a good length spacers for your front roll center? I know our cars aren't the same, but I want to copy your spacing for your ball joint and tie rod until I can get a bump steer gauge.
I need to try that thin copper sheet gasket, I already made my flange and will post up pics of my downpipe build soon.

The fronts don't have the secondary bearing, but have a larger main bearing (same bearing as my ball joints actually), I'm going to try to do something custom with the top hat and add another bearing to it myself...
In the above picture of the rears I tried to use a non-top mount attached top hat on the spring, but ran out of damper travel when I test fit it so I had to swap it back... I need to find/make a spring top had with a much lower profile to try to get that experiment to work.

So I lied.... I checked last night and I was rubbing on the top outside of the fender (which is surprising, I was expecting to rub on the frame rail).
I'm going to mark the fenders with something visible so I can see if they're old rubs or new rubs and raise the car about 1/4" and see if that solves it.
In other news, camber was a bit odd at the alignment shop, 1 side I got -3.8, and on the other side I could only get -3.0 out of it... so I need to see if the tire is closer to the strut on one side or another (a problem with the strut ears). I'll probably just slot the bottom holes slightly, or try to space down the camber plates to try to get them under the center hole.
rear camber with stock inner links was -1.9 and -2.2 which currently I'm fine with. Need to get the pyrometer out at the next event.
The car weighed in at around 2770 at the pro.... so still pretty porky
Also of note, in DC SM was only 0.3 seconds slower than SSM, but with PJ just starting development on the new 240 v3 and none of the SSM top runners there I'm not sure if that says a lot:
