Well this is it! Rotrex Supercharger Has been ordered!!!

DON'T YOU TURBO GUYS EVEN DARE SAY ANYTHING YET UNTIL I HAVE THE WHOLE THING RUNNING. I'M TIRED OF YOUR PESSIMISM AND CLOSED MINDS!!!

Now thats up there we can start

As the title states, the Rotrex charger is now on order, and development of the kit and testing should all be done and ready for the beginning of next year.

I'm out to show the world this time that you can supercharge a rotary with a good and new blower and have a great blast with them. I was hoping to be the first in the world to put this blower on a rotary (Well when i looked into them about 3-4 years back it was almost unheard of, but I know a company in singapore has one done on a third gen (although doesn't look ideal), and I've heard of some talk that someone else has done it in australia or new zealand just haven't seen any of that yet.

Anyways, the one that I ordered is a C30-94 trim size. Looks like it should be plenty fun and good for atleast 300hp. I'm personally aiming for 250whp for street use, and then for track use about 300whp. Its not super number but I don't want them neither. Maybe I'll tune it once with really high octane and as much boost as I can, just for all you dyno queens out there, but this car is by far not one of those cars.

I'm already weird enough by keeping a 12a, and putting ITB's and custom headers, and all that stuff on there.

All I have to say is: LET THE FUN BEGIN

The rest of the work you've done on your car has been well executed I'll be watching your progress on this, should be interesting!
You'll have to change your custom user test though

Superchargers suck, don't waste your money. Get a turbo instead, it'll be way better.

On a more serious note, I've always wondered what a centrifugal blower would be like on a rotary. Definitely looking forward to seeing it. I'd be particularly interested if, once it's all done, you could post a log of your boost curve during a WOT pull from low RPM.

I think that I did good and I'm ending on a good note for my N/A adventure. 165 whp with a SP 12a, and the thing really climbs through the RPM's nicely. I'll definitely be doing some more videos of it NA before the blower goes on.

Its not the most impressive number to look at, but for what it is and how it drove, I (and quite a few forum members as first hand witnesses) already know it has been a BLAST! But for me to be a bit more competitive, I need to have quite a bit more power, and trying to reach 250whp or more, and still retain its day to day driveability, boosting is the better way of going then say peripheral port and what not.

I do personally always feel that any engine, before being boosted, should be fined tuned N/A to enhance the performance and the over all efficiency of the system as a whole. As of right now, I know that there isn't any real restriction that will just be shadowed by boost. I believe that I'll be achieving a very good torque curve (or should I say line), and also get pretty good mileage with it.

If you can get 250+ Whp I'll be pretty impressed. I'll be following this.

Wow! I've been thinking about a Supercharger kit for my 13B-6 Street Ported RX7. I don't know quite how to do this either especially with my car presently being NA with a twin 44 Mikuni side draft carb setup. It's a nice setup and I can probably get more HP by changing the NA out to something else. I'll be eager to hear about the supercharging. I'm as eager to hear about this as you are about doing it.

I can confirm that power in his current setup. That thing is a monster! Hard to believe that it only dynos at 165. All I can say is that they must be very large horses in Sam's case.

I look forward towards your results as well. Rotorex Superchargers are many generations more advanced than current supercharger offerings out there. IT really is very similar to a Turbo.

The only drawback I saw to them was price $.

Good luck, and make sure you document from box opening to Tuning!

It can be a bit more than a turbo charger at a price of around 2100$.

That price though does include the charger, the filter for it, the lines to the filter, a pulley, and its own traction fluid.

For the people that don't know about these chargers you don't need to tap into the engine oil for it to be lubed up. I personally think this is a really good thing as it makes less of a worry to damage the unit from starvation of oil or anything like that.

I personally feel that as a whole system, the turbo chargers and superchargers are about the same in price. Now obviously this is talking about buying everything new. It probably is cheaper to go turbo for more people as there are tons of used parts laying around for that.

Don't worry, I'll make sure in about 5 years time or so, that these superchargers will be a bit cheaper to buy and hopefully we'll have a few used kit for sale for poorer crowd.

Alright ... I'll tell you my secret, it was measured in dogpower. Us, canadians (aka - igloo living people), we always need to know who has the best dogs for our sleds and so thats actually our normal canadian standard.

Actually that's very affordable. These units where upwards of 5k when they were first released. So $2100 for a full setup is pretty damn good.

You're going to run a carb or fuel injection?

I have been reading up on these rotrex superchargers also. seems very promising, if you watch videos on youtube they have them installed in some miatas that seem to be performing very well on the tracks. Definitely would LOVE to see one of these on a rotary ... Make us proud dj55b

i think you're right, but someday i'll have mine together and dynoed and we'll get to see.

it'll be neat to see how that s/c works, if you do it right it'll have a nice FAT powerband
