How was your buying/shipping experience with jdm.thirteen? Did the order take long to come in? What did you do for the mirror since it didn't come with one?

Overall, it was a decent experience. The fiberglass is quite thin and it took some effort to get things where I wanted, but that is pretty normal for fg parts I guess. A bit of filler work for sure!

The parts were reasonably priced but shipping was expensive. I don't remember the timeline exactly but the orders did take a while to get. I wasn't in much of a rush, probably wouldn't recommend if you want something quick. Tracking was pretty humorous - the packages ping-ponged all over the world before making it to Canada. Surprisingly, no shipping damage at all.

I just rigged up some small oval motorcycle mirrors for now to be "legal". They're pretty useless - still searching for the perfect mirrors.

Finished up the last few things today. All back together!

It’s not perfect but it’s good enough for me.

Feels real good to have it back on the road!

Holy cow, dude. I can't wait to see this IRL

Ever compare this to the pics in the first post and be blown away by what you've done?

Now that's a name I haven't seen since the 'heights days! lol
Thanks man, it's been a while! Happy to hear you got yourself an RX-7 and have found us here. Just missed ya at the Gerry Gordons meet last fall!

Looking back on the build I kinda flip-flop. I've got an RX-7 photo album on my coffee table and sometimes I regret not keeping it stock. Some of the irreversible choices I've made along the way have been a bit questionable. I'm pretty proud of the result, now, though!
It has been a ton of fun to work on and has become pretty exciting to drive. When I take it out and nearly crash it like a Mustang leaving cars and coffee I remember the motivation for my choices. Thought the 315's might stick, but nope! Not a car to lend out anymore, haha.

I'll keep my eyes open for your build thread and we'll have to catch up soon. If you need parts or help with anything shoot me a message!

I would have to re-measure to be sure but roughly:
~17x9 -12 fronts (w/ 12mm spacer) 255/40/17
~17x12 -10 rear (no spacer) 315/35/17

Car has the ol' RE-SPEED big brake kit using FC hubs/rotors w/ FD calipers up front. Moser axles w/ TII rotors and calipers in the back.

Will be looking to purchase larger lips and tires for the front at some point, could use an extra inch or two of width.
Should probably swap to power steering first as it is really tough to turn the wheel with the ~15:1 rack and poor geometry. The steering kinda sucks overall... 0* Ackermann makes for lovely parking lot manners and the universal joints wear quickly. GySgtFrank's setup has me dreaming! lol

That's funny, it has me scratching my head in frustration a lot of the time. Those are some big meats, looks awesome.

Well it was -4 the other night so its looking like car season is almost over for me. Time to start tuning up the snowmobiles! lol

Luckily I had a chance to spend a couple hours in the car last weekend and got it dialed in pretty good to 12 psi. Every little increase in boost now is making a huge difference - its getting pretty wild and I'm starting to get a little nervous about high boost, haha. Definitely nearing the safe limit for street tuning so I probably should consider some dyno time. Sounds like a good plan for next spring!

No major plans for the car except getting a healthy tune on it, for now. I did get a new UIM recently, though! Pretty excited to try it out but its looking like it will be a winter project...

Washed 'em both up yesterday and got them semi tucked away. Not totally sure they'll come out again this year, might be the last update of 2024!

If nothing interesting comes up I will see y'all on the flipside

Will work on dreaming up some good additions/projects for 2025!

Has been a pretty quiet summer for the RX-7s!

Picked up a new bike in the spring and spent most of the nice days riding.

Now that the weather is getting cooler here I've been putting in some time on the FB.

Finally installed the new intake manifold, some big-boy wastegate springs and I'm back on the tuning mission.
Gotta rework some stuff on the water injection and freshen up the steering/suspension. Will be grinding away on it until the snow falls and then hopefully put some real miles on it in 2026!

Just had to pop in here quick as it has been a minute! Hope y'all are well!

Thanks for the update!

I had a bike once, but got real close to having an accident and decided I wasn't ready for one at that time. However, I still have mopeds to get my 2 wheel fix! lol
