My 13B-REW Build
#51
I started with self tappers.
Once I was happy with it I welded T nuts to the body and used some nice stainless steel chicago screws to hold them on. I am quite happy with how it worked out.
A good friend of mine used nutserts on his widebody and it also turned out great.
I think a little bit of stainless steel for contrast sets the flares off.

Good news! Got the spare REW all buttoned up today and it runs awesome! Even better than the first one!
I didnt expect much difference, but this one pulls as good at 10psi as the last one did at 15. It also seems to be much quieter. Has a bit less low end torque for some reason I cant explain, but still blows the last engine away.
I am starting to wonder if the original motor wasnt damaged from the begining (came out of a rolled JDM FD).
Either way, I cant complain. IM BAACK!! and it feels sooo good.
woooo!

Planning on hitting up the local drag strip this weekend to see what the old girl can do!
Just installed a master cut off switch so it is legal, hope everything else is good!
Fingers are crossed that this motor holds up to the punishment and lays down some good numbers.
I will have updates as soon as Im back from the track, and potentially a video if my buddy will lend me his gopro.
This will be my first time taking her to the track. So pumped!!!

Thisis a bad *** build man!!
I also habve an 85 with an rew in it, but i went a different route with the mounts. I used the respeed front mount with the gslse front cover and fabbed a trans cross member that mounts to the frame on both sides and bolts to the bottom two engine/trans bolts. No engine or trans flex whatsoever.
Im highly impressed with the wiring work!! That is badass!!
Congrats on your build and enjoy it...nothing like seeing the face of other people when an old *** fb blows the doors of their car!!

Well I ran a 13.4 @ 104 before we got rained out. Not terrible but Ive got a ways to go.
Turned up the boost for my last run and even with a 3 sec 60 foot / smoking the tires through third, I trapped 103.
Seems like shes got a 12.x in her!
Hope to get out to one more event before the season is over.

You need a standalone ECU and loom to run the REW alongside the existing loom in your FB shell to take care of the rest.

Could still pull some power out of the current setup as the AFRs dip into the low 10s.
Plan to go single turbo and water/meth in the next year so thats when Ill try for the real power!
Its an absolute blast right now, but I am used to the power already and want moar!
