GSL-SE “build” thread

Hey everyone! As I chip away at perfecting my five letter I thought I may show my progress as I go along. Here is my latest project on it. I replaced the aftermarket antenna with the oem one for an original look, I found my trunk drain to be draining all the water right into my quarter panel so I dried it out and re connected the drain. I also found the antenna drain tubing to be cracked and brittle so I replaced it with some new tube. There is no hole for the antenna tube so I made my own. It’s not pretty but it doesn’t have to be since I will be the only one seeing it haha. Here are some pics!

Your car is amazing and looks to have been very well cared for! You are doing a great job getting the car where it should be!

Beautiful!

I had the same thing with my factory antenna, it was draining (prob not that much honestly) directly into the rear quarter, weird! Others had the same thing.

@mazdaverx713b thank you!! It is my pride and joy! If I have free time it is either browsing the forum or online for more rx7 info or working on the car… This winter I am getting what I can get done before it gets some cosmetic perfection in the summer!

@Toruki I was looking on your thread when I was doing it haha! Yeah I just created a hole in the bottom plug and slipped it through and then put some sealant around it, not pretty but it works. I will probably go back and clean it up a bit…

Got my original radio installed and it is working great! Only problem is when I use the tape deck the front left speaker doesn’t operate, cannot figure out why… also bought an oem antenna and then proceeded to break it. Ordered another one and got scammed so I am going to try and repair the one I broke.
