Hey yall,

Starting a thread for my 85 rx7 finally, been lurking for a few years. didn't have the bandwith for the whole project while in school, so now I'm diving head first after a lot of prep.

I picked up my 7 in philly when I was in highschool, and over the years did a lot of maintainence to keep it on the road, but was able to work with the stock, unopened 170k mile 12a (to my knowledge) I have been prepping a big swap for a few months, so here's a braindump of where I'm at so far, would love any suggestions or questions yall might have. Ill post some pictures of when I picked it up vs now, and of the goodies that I have on standby.

The plan: 12a, Halfbridgeported
-I snagged a another 12a last fall for cheap that was sitting in a car in upstate NY, found it wasnt the worst- suprisingly- in teardown, has some small chrome flaking, but will definitely do the job.
- I had goopy machine a half-bridgeport, and got all the seals I needed to re-stack -all rotor seals, coolant etc, gonna reuse oil rings
- Cleaned and painted the housings and irons, I think the last thing I need to do before stacking is port out the exhaust a little with a dremel
oil cooler reroute
- need to snag an FC oil cooler

Prepped Nikki- following a "Fat nikki" thread I found, some jetting guides, sterling posts ETC.
- I tore-down the same NIkki ive had on the original car the whole time tonight - should get the works soon. Already is mostly rats nest deleted and has the primaries and secondaries tied mechanically.
- Will probably throw a carter or holley fuel pump with a reg on here, need to purchase still

RB headers, RB muffler
- need to fab exhaust

While Im in there the whole engine bay will get a cleanup and repaint.

Replacing the gas tank because it leaks over 3/4 full, have a good one, just need to clean and install

More plans to come once the pissmissle is brapping again
- paint, suspension, sound system overhaul

Blew upper coolant hose on the drive home the day i got it

goopy port - do i need to extend this up or down? It looks a little short to me from what ive seen
