GSL-SE and Conquest pics
#5
sorry for the bad interior pic. thanks to gsl-se addict for the extra help in posting the pics! i have been waiting for awhile now to get some pics of the cars up. the SE has 89K. it has a nice bra on it now and it runs excellent! the conquest is a fun car to drive. sure its faster than any of my 7's but i dont get the same feeling driving it. i like the 7's a ton more. it was a good price and i couldnt pass it up you all know how that goes.

Seeing that picture brought back memories of a 1988 Starion that a buddy had back in Highschool. His was two-tone, silver on top, dark blue on the bottom, and it was a turbo car.
That thing was heavy! You could feel it when you drove it that it needed the turbo just to move the massive body around - either that or the shocks/struts were shot. We used to make a lot of driving trips back then, and I'll have to see if I can pull up some pictures.
Back at that time, we raced these head to head out in the middle of nowhere (street racing is dangerous), and my SA22 beat him in the hole-shot, and kept up with him once he got that turbo spooled up. We only raced to 60mph, but the RX-7 kept up better than I had expected. Granted, it was also the first night that he had brought the car home, so he really didn't have that much experience driving it.
Come to think of it, he ended up wrapping that car around a lightpole sliding it around corners with my now Sister-In-Law in the passenger seat. She's never been the same.
Ahhh, the good 'ole days!

it is a very heave car. when i bought it, it was quick. about gsl-se quick. i think the 0-60 on it was in the high 7's. i have a little done to it (see sig). if i could host a video.... i have more pics of it but i really didnt think that anyone would care too much to see more pics of it or a video for that matter. the car is really quick, i would guess i am in the low 14's with it. who knows though. thats just a guess.
